Dub: My limited understanding on the subject is that particles smaller than 9 microns can't cause wear so it's a waste of time filtering them and only adds to restriction?
Fluid dynamics 101 ;)
The fluid will follow the path of least resistance so in a dual you'd need matched filters or it'd just bypass the more restrictive one.
I think the layout of the dual adaptor would contribute to this even with matched filters.
There's not that much HP to be found running a motor too lean and on the edge of detonation but you can pick up quite a bit through ignition advance and this is where the Octane plays a huge part.
I tend to tune "safe" these days and run quite conservative timing under boost but the fuel I...
I still get a laugh each time I read a thread where someone tips the can for the dyno and posts up that they're running 14psi and NEED the hi octane fuel.....
Best power always comes from a fuel with just enough octane to resist detonation unless you're talking Nitro (aka HP in a can)
So he does!
Never noticed before I'll have to use it more often now ;)
Maybe this one is more fitting if offence is required?
Or how about really offensive <jk>
There isn't a smilie that can express my feelings at the sheer stupidity being paraded around in this thread disguised as informed comment.....
"Ohhh Lord help me keep my big mouth shut until I know what I'm talking about"
Pretty well sums it up though...:nono:
