Doing hg, not a novice but a few questions

Yep worth getting some new gaskets in there and gives you a chance to check for stripped exhaust studs

Doing hg, not a novice but a few questions

Copper is good as long as you DON'T use 15 cans per gasket ;) PM Aaron at Driftmotion for the bolts (Studs are overkill for an NA) Just take the entire head assembled to the shop and get them to do the work (trust me on this)

    Coolant temperature issues.. Advice?? Ideas??

Leon: It could be leaking at high boost/temps then settle back down when it cools enough not to affect the comp test. (Sometimes a crack will exhibit this behaviour) Grab a torque wrench and run the head bolts to see if there are any loose ones before tearing into it.

S2 Now makes Carbon doors :)

Yes in machine work they do ;) So by your own reasoning replacing the doors with these Carbon ones will result in even more Targa flex in the Chassis......

Ed: As far as I can tell the material is much the same from early to late production (This is just based on how each machines it's quite hard for Cast Iron) As I stated earlier pay close attention to ALL of the holes in the deck of the early blocks before spending a pileOcash on machine work...

im new to this site and i have a question about my heater core

Any good radiator shop should be able to recore yours at a fraction of the cost from the dealership. It's a big job to remove and repair it though :( (Just did mine last month)

A few oil related problems (Tapping)

Go through a bunch of the basics first before pulling the motor... Unclip an injector at a time and see if it stops. Try using a long screwdriver as a stethoscope and listen around the motor. Has the Oil Pressure dropped since it started tapping?

S2 Now makes Carbon doors :)

Burn me at the stake as a Heretic but in FG for the part to be stong enough to cope with everyday use it's going to be close the the weight of the steel part as it'll need a good deal of hardpoints and reinforcements added.

A few oil related problems (Tapping)

Start off with a fresh rebuild ;) It could very well be another issue but going on the facts presented my guess would be it's wiped a bearing.
