Tlo: Jz 340's have electronic line pressure control so no cable.
Bamf has a disability but would like a manual car and talked about building a clutchless manual (huge expensive job) I offered up the SSv4 as a low cost alternative.

Grim: As I've stated before the Mk3 is the wrong choice if you're chasing a light weight car as even stripped it's basic structure is heavy and you can't do anything about that without sacrificing structural integrity.

Keep the 7M trans and converter swap in a Jz bellhousing and he's good to go ;) (much less drama and expense than building his clutchless manual he wants and still has full manual control over the trans)
FL88: I don't have a whole lot of experience on the BoV question as they were only starting to be used the last time I was into Turbo motors before my accident enforced break away from cars.
During the time I've been back I've yet to see any actual evidence of a Turbo failure caused by no BoV...
Colin: The angled slots mean the Pad is always supported across it's width so there can be no cutting action by the slot this might be different with radial slots, again I doubt it would ever be seen as a "good feature" having a Rotor cut a pad.

The can has spun ends with a piece of 4" tube welded in that the K&N Clamps onto inside.
As delivered it had a restrictive bellmouth spun on the inside end of the inlet piece of 4", I trimmed this off and it made a huge increase in flow/power.
