    Suze: I'd try 3: again with a couple of jumper leads hooked between the Battery Neg and the block and see if it picks up. (I'm surprised it starts at all at 9.8v, these may be Gumby tests but it's showing an issue)

    LOL I made most of it :) I left it natural Al to break up the Black a bit in the Bay.

    John: Nope ..... I'd have to do a tuft test and have someone follow with a Vid camera and see just what the airflow was doing while driving. I figure with the front mount the only time the fan should come on is in stop start low speed driving and then suck would be better.

    Detonation is usually worst at peak cylinder pressure (around the Tq peak) But can happen at low RPM/high load as well.
