J: When they press the new bolts in it can deform the hole slightly.
To "resize" them they take a skim off the parting line of the Rod Cap to make the hold smaller then either Bore and Hone or just Hone to size (B&H is in extreme cases)
All this gives you a big end hole that's round and...
Just as an FYI Pauters come with ARP 2000 3/8 bolts they don't advertise this fact and the markings are removed from the bolt heads ;)
<correction> They have started advertising the ARP 2000 bolts!
Could try a lighter Oil if it bugs you.
(This is why Reverse sometimes grinds and why selecting a forward gear for a second first stops it as it stalls the geartrain allowing the straight cut reverse to select)

Yep mine has a Carb.
I'm running an M800 MoTeC to 2x 3 channel M&W Igniters then out to 6x Bosch HEC716 coils.
Are your Webers DCOE/T's? or have you added airseals to the shafts?
Brett: You can run without it it just idles up the motor on full lock turns.
The $400+ is if you went to replace it.
Make sure you cap off the hose that goes to it so you don't get a leak on full lock and it'll be fine.
