Andy: Not sure if they changed the plug on the NSS for the 1J harness/trans but wouldn't surprise me.
Troy: Sorry for the bum steer.
(it'll be the same issue just on a different plug)
DUDE seriously......
Where do you think the pickup sucks from the Top of the tank?
Think about it for a few minutes......
This "Myth" dates back from the dark old days with uncoated tanks if you let the fuel level drop too much you'd get condensation build up which would rust the tank...
TBC: The community here will get behind you 100% and help in any way we can but your post slamming the fire dept bugged me.
They would have acted the same way if it were a 100K Merc or a 20 year old Supra.
You're blamming the wrong people here is all.
Grim/Dave has it right (as confirmed by SB)
EVERY single 7M I've built has had uneven Tq after 4+ heat cycles so now it's just part of how I do things. (it may only be a few ft/lbs here and there usually in the middle of the head but it's still uneven so not worth the risk)
The Oil system can be a HUGE part of the cooling system Driz.
If you had the choice personally I'd use the Late Squirter block for that sort of output.
Brett: You only get one chance to seal up a gasket...
If the tq is a bit uneven and the head lifts slightly under boost coolant gets between the gasket and the surface you're trying to seal.
Eventually when you do get on boost hard that's where it will fail...
It's up to you it's your...
There IS a bypass connector for the Manual Trans from memory it's a round plug and the wires are Black/Blue (a bit foggy if it's black with a blue trace or the other way around)
If that's not in place no starter.
"D" here
Connector D on this pic.
For the life of me I can't find that spec to quote.
If it was something I measured here it would have been on an uncut brand new block with Ross and JE pistons.
If I can find it I'll post here.
