I'm talking about a T4 .8ar and a T3 .8ar GT3540r housing
they both flow the same as the "Nozzle" size is the same and it's the restriction NOT the flange.
"It will only flow as much as the point of greatest restriction"
The only reason for the 2 housings is so you can bolt it to a T4...
There's NO DIFFERENCE between a T4 flanged GT3540r and a T3 flanged one other than the Flange, the Wheel and nozzle are the same and that's what set's flow.
This is a common misconception Tiss ;)
Jon: Yep I freaked out a bit when I got my first BB Garrett a gt3040r rang them jump up and down and they assured me that's how they are..... (didn't seem right to me but maybe they float the bearing OD to allow for any imbalance)
As I said the 3540 and the 04z are both the same.
My brand new 3540r and my brand new T04z both had a bit of in/out/up/down play when I got em.
TLO: Big issue with BB Turbo's is they have a pair of 1mm restrictions just before the bearings so are easily blocked if there was any crap in the Oil Gallery or lines :(
