if you're worried about them being to bright, why not just put in a variable resitance rheostat on the power wire that lights them up? turn up the resistance, the less bright the lights will be.

I've got the clips on my injectors facing down. Had them that way for a long time. Injectors are just presurized valves, it doesn't matter their orientation (to a certain degree)
