This is a good question, and I'd like to know about this too.
My car was originally NA, and the supermonitor obviously doesn't show a valid mileage estimate,
as I have a 7mgte in it with the 440 injectors, and it shows a mileage I would guess is about 30% too
optomistic. Would like to hear...
Just buy a felpro hg for the 'mild' supra. Doesn't sound like you're trying to make a huge amount of power with it, so it should be fine.
And you won't spend a bunch on the part either.
OR... You need to do a resistor swap on the back of the tach.
There are three or four resistors that need to be changed, because they have different values on the ge vs. the gte.

Why did you post this thread twice?
And yes, oil will come out the driveshaft end unless you block it up.
And if you don´t have a driveshaft, why do you want to put oil in the tranny?
136 and accelerating in my 77 280z. 122 and chickened out in my 88Supra when it was na.
Haven´t attempted anything beyond 110 in my turbo. I guess I really am getting old.
Dunno if this helps, but I have the original MAFT, and started getting a stumbling, loss of power when adding throttle- situation, and it turned out to be a loose connector from the HAC line to the MAFT.
Supras require that you not cut corners on maintainence. Aside from that, they are very stable, comfortable and stylish cars.
And with very little effort, can be made to perform as well or better than most comparable vehicles made today.
Plus, you get the right to say you drive a Supra.
: )
I have that problem as well. When I start from a stop, I hear a loud- almost a tap sound, like someone lightly smacked a hammer against a thick piece of metal. I haven't investigated it much yet, but i imagine it has something to do with the brake pads/ shims moving slightly.
The true 'divorced' DP is made so that the wastegate pipe just opens to the atmosphere, and does not rejoin the exaust flow, as the one above.
The result is a very loud 'woosh' when the wastegate opens on acceleration. I have a seperated DP as shown above and like it that way, but many people do...
