Yes, my rings on my 90,000 mile motor were perfect as well.
Looks like I am going with IJ's advice and putting in black rings. If nothing else, I'll get a good seal in short order. :)

Cometic for the first and ARP for the second. These are common parts and brands, carried by virtually every performance shop, and several of the forum vendors as well.
You'd need to plumb it in a decent distance past the O2 sensor, or that would get screwed up readings whenever your BOV opened. The check valve would be required, I think.
If you run a cat, I expect it would burn a hell of a lot hotter from the extra O2. I doubt it would make any extra...
Err... what I meant is that I'm pretty certain it cuts both fuel and spark. I'm absolutely certain that it cuts spark, and I'm pretty sure it cuts back fuel as well.
However, I'm perfectly willing to be proven wrong on either point.

Hrm... I'm not entirely certain anymore. Once upon a time I was certain it was just ignition cut, but I've heard the ECU has an output to the fuel pump relay, so it could easily cut both at once...
