that top connector in the pic carries a few of the power signals, one of the others has the gauge signals (Tach, oil pressure, temp, etc).... There have been some other Cressida swaps, so I am sure someone else can give you better details on hooking them all up...
Looking in the TRSM (A/C Section), site searches, and FAQs, I can't find what the right amount of R134 to use in place of the R12. I thought the rule of thumb is 80% of whatever the R12 capacity was... Just need to know what that capacity is.
Going to look at different sections of the...
Figured I'd drill out the mass of it and then torch/melt what's leftover, then file/clean whatever may still be left. Bought a few different sized hole saw attachments and a torch. Gonna take an extra day almost, to do this mess. Was already hoping to be doing some installing.
Anyone have the links to the old bushing removal threads? Dropped off all the parts and the shop called late in the day to say they could not press 'em out, after they said they could.
I guess I'll have to cut & torch after all... no one's open to do this on Sundays. Anyone use a hole-saw...
I saw a thread by Cuel that mentioned how he had to cut out, trim some metal (machine shop) and press in a GM one (which also had to be trimmed some), but the attached pics did not work.
That was in 2007, so I figured someone may have done something different/better by now.
I also thought...
Have searched and read alot about replacing the whole arm, and even the option of using a GM BJ.
Has anyone successfully used a commonly found balljoint to replace the Toyota ones (without replacing the whole arm)?
I am installing the poly bushings and mine look tore up. I am sure I can...
Which vacuum hose?
Getting ready to get the wife's engine ordered, so will have some spare parts to mess with as well. Would rather isolate it, since it seems to be fairly common, which means it's some small/slight difference that has caught us all.
Did ya'll unravel your harnesses and...
...Sorry. Map, meaning wiring plan/mapping from the MKIII body to the 2J engine harness, and other misc. connections.
I'll have to get back at it soon, but have other stuff I need to get done (suspension, A/C, etc)... Which at this point, is better return (ROI) on investment of my time than...
Replaced coilpacks w/spare 1JZ ones, new plugs, and Fed with the ISC some more... Still sputtering and loping idle (ISC). Died on me about half-mile from home and tripped a water temp sensor code (wouldn't start). Swapped with my other ECU that I still had in the car, still code 22 and no...
I did undo mine when removing all of the unecessary wiring/connections. I did "twist" it back up to make it slimmer. May not have put in the right number of twists (like you would measure with twisted pair, etc).
...Anyone know of any easily-found shops like Firestone, Sears, Meineke, etc that have the ability to press out the old bushings? I don't want to mess with torching, etc anyways, but the performance/machine shops aren't very convenient/near me.
Thanks
I am using US cams w/JDM gears.... Did not think it'd be an issue since it seems that's been done many times before. Should we find some US cam gears and see if there are any differences?
That was for the heli-coil tap/kit. The bolts I would need for it cost another $5.
SUCKED!!! AND, come to find, I had water in the oil (after putting everything back together... probably from where I initially Fed up the block with bolts which were too long. Had to replace the block...
FYI.. This MFer cost about $100 US from NAPA. I was just ready to get things fixed/runnig, but still the worse use of funds for something I'd only use once, EVER!
Don't spend that much, I'll send it to ya for much less (just shipping).
There's a small, spade-type connection near that connector on the body harness. The 7M compressor had 1 wire that went to it. I think that's what we used. I have not touched the A/C in awhile and TRD87T may come by on Wednesday to help me make sure I've got it all skrait.
Did not get to...
I posted the part # for the K&N, on a thread in SF I think. I had bought (and still have) the smaller sized ones from the auto parts and ended up having to research and get the sae as what the MKIV guys had. Local auto parts did not have the bigger size needed. Maybe 5/8 is what you will...
