Didn't have to cut coils off on my car...
Stock sized helicoils pulled out of my head (yes they where loctited in as well), so I had to use the upgraded ones.
No issues since.
You do know that the main reason it's done the way it is is because of the Cruise Control, right?
JDM Cruise Control moves the pedal.
You'd also have issues if it was an auto as you'd have to figure out a way to work in the kickdown cable.
Ignore him, he's the same one that got proved wrong over and over in the old EGR thread, he knows he's wrong, was proven wrong, but still spreads the disinformation.

Around here they don't even lie about it, it was in the paper that they hired 3 more motorcycle cops to increase revenue.
Not only that, but the gray laws that leave WAY too much up to the opinion and interpretation of the officer opens...
Stock ECU is tuned for EGR...
If you can't find the clutch switch, that right there is your problem as it won't start without the clutch pushed in (or the switch bypassed, but you lose cruise control IIRC).
