I clean the nipples where the hoses go with a wire brush (or wheel if the part is easily removed like the t-stat housing), and generally I don't have to use any lubrication to get the hose on.
I've heard of people using windex (glass cleaner) as a lubricant as it dries fast and doesn't stay...
Doubt it as I've never seen them come off, and intentionally taking them off is a chore...
More than likely it's a boost leak, leaking BOV, exhaust leaks pre-turbo, or a clogged exhaust (common with a stock downpipe).
Sounds like he's talking aobut using the hot-wire MAF off of a GM car in a blow through configuration.
There are issues doing it that way, and as long as your intercooler piping is leak free having it before the turbo is just as good without the drawbacks...
Leave the oil pressure sensor on the block, plug the hole in the adapter (or install an aftermarket one there, but still leave the sensor in the block).
You're going to have to plug those holes in the adapter anyway if not used...
Well, that's where the AEM seems to win... On a larger turbo and if you no longer have the AFM you can get a larger one.
Apex'i makes universal ones too though I don't think they're as big...
Look fine to me (except for the horrible application of paint...)
You do know our calipers swing out of the way and the pads get inserted into the bracket and the caliper swings back down over them, right?
Bingo, especially once properly bedded in!
Brake systems aren't simple by any means. If the rotor isn't big enough it can't take the heat away from the pad, so the heat goes somewhere else...like into the caliper. Caliper gets hot because it's small and can't disipate the heat, heat goes to...
That's ANY foam style filter. Foam is only good for one thing, and one thing only, as a pre-filter.
They're the same basic design, but the Apex'i has the internal funnel design that should flow better...
W56-B that was in the trucks is the same series as the W58 but with a steel center plate (like the R154).
Never available in our cars though.
Personally the W58 isn't that much smoother than the R154 IMHO, and about which tranny is "better" you be the judge from this diagram...
They know what they're doing and they take pride in their work (they sign the transmission when it's done).
There is a simple rebuild, and a full blueprinted tranny, guess which one they do...
I reuse em if they're in good shape...
Ditto on the heatshield that everyone has mentioned, but you also said it had oil on it so your CPS is probably leaking. Get the O-ring from the dealer for it and replace...
