    dash lights.

When I pulled my dash apart, I checked the bulbs. They were pretty standard - I don't recall exactly what the type was, but there was a huge selection of ones that would fit in my local parts store, in just about any color you could ask for. Honestly, I'd pull it out, yank a bulb, and go visit...

    dash lights.

Not that I'm aware of - I haven't seen any information on it since the crash, actually. I suspect that they just bought red bulbs from an auto parts store though, anyone who is going to put that much work into it likely isn't willing to rely on paint.

    No more for me...

Oh, I'm not trying to suggest you don't have a big problem on your hands, just that a leakdown test might help you pinpoint the source. It's rare that someone blows a gasket in no time ... unless they did something obviously wrong, like forget to clean out the bolt holes in the block. I mention...

    Time for a leakdown test.

Red will work fine, there are several members who have converted to red already.

    Depleted uranium?!?!?!? WTF

First off, I am not an anti president Bush person, AND I'm not American. That said... Folks, go sign up for a basic Chem course. It's called DEPLETED for a reason - the people making the ammo don't use active uranium for a reason - because it's valuable and can be used in other ways more...

    No more for me...

No. Faulty rad cap can cause other things to blow up, like coolant hoses, but that's about it. It can also cause BHG like symptoms to appear. How did you test for BHG?

    Intercooler piping and Smog

Notice my previous post... where they failed the car that had been converted to electric because the original smog equipment had been removed. (Along with the entire gasoline burning engine, I should point out.) This is not the behavior of a state that cares about emmissions. This is the...

    Detroit Auto Show

LOL... these threads always stir up the populace. I think you can stop hoping for another I-6 right now. Toyota will design this car to be a good to fantastic performer, but there is no room for nostalgia in their design plans. What engine do they manufacture right now that can handle a lot...

    My poor baby needs work...

You need two cam seals and two valve cover gaskets. You'll also need some blue permatex sealant - this is glue, comes in a tube and is available at just about any parts store. As for tools, if you have 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 14mm, 17mm & 19mm wrenches and sockets, a spark plug socket, a 3/8"...

    My poor baby needs work...

Holy crap... MY ass hurts reading that, and it's not even my car. 1. Scrap that. Even if the antilock brakes act up, should just disable the antilock portion. Drive carefully. 2. Do it yourself. Crank seal = $11.02 (part number 90311-52003), Cam seals = $1.76 (part number 90311-35008) each...

    highest hp

Guys, the records for the Mk3 are way higher than that. IIRC, there were two tubeframe Mk3 chassis dragsters built in Japan during the car's heyday, one by HKS and one by a private owner, one with 1200+ whp and the other with 1400+ whp. I don't think anyone here has any use for that kind of...

    Crankshaft Timing Pulley Removal

Use a puller. They are available in lots of places, and they cost a few bucks.

    Oil Dipstick, hard to read...

I don't think they fixed it until years after the Mk3 was done. The difference is huge, believe me, and the new one only costs a few bucks.

    Oil Dipstick, hard to read...

Buy a new one from Toyota. They fixed the design, and the new ones work FAR better.

Clutch that will hold 600-700 crank HP?

Hopefully you are looking for those numbers in torque, as clutches don't come rated for hp. Horsepower freaks can hook you up, I think that's where Duane picked up his, and it hold fine at higher levels than that. They were very helpful on the phone, too.

Vid of my engine running / also whats the sound?

No idea what caused it, I'm afraid. it was a PITA to diagnose, especially as we were at a Supra meet a good 6 hour drive away from home. Luckily a local Supra driver loaned us the use of his driveway - my buddy pulled the tranny, fixed it, and bolted it back in the very next day, then drove home.
