i fucking love you jdub......i was sooooo damn worried that i had to take the oil pump out....this car has been a pain but its what i expected....btw, i got the leak fixed bewteen the head and timing plate....just leaks a drop every now and then from the oil pan gasket....that will be taken care...

ok so its all back together i took it around the block, got up to 35 nothing rediculous.....it leaks a drop of oil every few seconds or so....nothing like before..but i think its leaking from the oil pan, not between the head and timing cover...Thanks god!!

i just got my motor put back together and was driving it around today. i installed a remanned oil pump and even opened it to check clearance specs per tsrm but for some reason, it shows low oil pressure. when i start the car, it goes to the second line then after its warmed up it likes to just...

well the plate is back on with sealant and new gaskets....im gonna finish it up tommorow and let you guys know how it works out!

so not good as in replace the hg? i have a new one chilling in the garage, the arizona sun just takes up all the damn energy i have...i guess im gonna drop in a new hg and get this done right!!

actually i didnt put the head on. i got it with the head on...it was in shortblock form.....the headgasket is not backwards...nothing sticking out of the back....

so with it not being there, is that going to creat a problem? could i just put new gaskets and rtv the top of the timing plate before i put it on?

im not saying separate gasket.......im saying that it seems part of the head gasket was cut......

there is no headgasket in between the head and the timing plate. it looks as though someone got a razor and cut it so they could put the plate on without having to take off the head. the two holes that are visible when i look under the head with a mirror are circled. the head and block are new...

so some of you know i had oil leaking from between the back timing plate and the bottom of the head....so i took off the plate today (with the head on) and took a mirror to the part of the head that the plate touches and noticed there was no head gasket there. i could see a little bit poking out...

uhh.....yeah....the gas is gonna be dark brown/black and turned into tarnish...

has anyone tried running an srt-4 intercooler? i see them on craigslist for nothing and thought i would be a good aesthetic upgrade.

well, im gonna try to pull the front plate off and do it that way.....worst case, i pull the head, and do it that way. i have extra gaskets and nothing but time.....

so i cant just pull off the front plate?

i did not pu sealant where the tsrm said as i did not look at the tsrm. do i have to take off that plate now and put sealant there? where does it say to put it?? i cant seem to find it in the tsrm

is it possible i have too much oil in my car? its hard to see the oil level because the oil and motor is new.....
