    Knock sensors test

The grounding is there to shield the KS wires from radio interference emitted by various electronic devices, primarily the sparkplug wires. This is done because the KS are extremely sensitive and can misinterpret electrical interference as a knock.

    tour de france fans?

I really think Lance is holding back. I'm sure he will win unless something really bad happens.

    tractor sound

1-5-3-6-2-4 is the order the power strokes occur in. On an ignition system with a distributor the power stroke order is the same as the spark plug wiring arrangement. On ours it's different because it is a wasted spark system. Haynes is correct that 1-5-3-6-2-4 is the firing order(power stroke)...

    Using JZ's igniter in 7M-GTE (+)

Ok some of you need a little clarification on how the 7M ignition system works. I read an article once that was extremely informative. It took a little while to find it again but I finally did, it was in a weird place but it's the right article. The 7M system is towards the end but the whole...

    TACH gauge idea....LOL

While I haven’t done the LED gauge conversion myself, I have picked up a few pics along the way. I'm not sure who did these, but I wish I did so I could give them proper credit.

    car won't lock!

One problem might be that the switch in the ignition has worn out. Cause the Supra won't allow the doors to lock if the key is still in the ignition. If the switch is worn out the ignition will still think the key is in. Also, you probably already know this, but you have to lift the handle when...

    1jz conversion ?

Umm... I have to ask. How do you fit an inline six motor sideways in a compact car.

    1jzgte?

Well that isn't going to do him any good if he isn't registered at Supraforums because they are not taking anybody new right now. MKIII NOOb let us know if you don’t have an account with Supraforms and I'll see what info and links I can pull up.

    zero boost lag idea...

Some of you guys are talking about a having 1-2 PSI of boost at idle. Assuming this was even possible you would have to redesign every system in the car that runs on vacuum, especially the brake booster. You would really need to figure out something fancy because 1-2 PSI isn't going to do much...

    Nextel Sucks!

Yeah you aint kidding, I gave my girlfriend a cell phone so I could keep in touch with her while I was on trips. Long story short, it was a big mistake. A $900.00 big mistake. I called up the phone company and was able to work something out so I didn't have to pay all of that bill. Needless to...

    low idle after warmup (600rpm's)

The TSRM states that the idle for a warm engine is 650 RPM, if you’re close to that then I wouldn't worry.

    Couple more questions?!!?!?

Wow, that's one of the cleaner looking ones I've seen. If I'm not mistaken you have relocate the alternator and remove the AC compressor for that one to work, correct?

    Best smog state?

yeah when I lived in northwest colorado there wasn't anything. You walk in and buy new tags each year and that it, nobody even looks at your car. Hell they don't even know what car you drive, they don't care.

calling all computer dorks, need a laptop

You asked if sager was expensive and I would say, no there not. I got my laptop for $3500.00, for comparison Alienware(They use the same company for some of the laptop foundations) wanted $5,000.00 for the same laptop. So I would say no there not expensive. They don't have $700.00 laptops like...

calling all computer dorks, need a laptop

Well I have a sager. This thing is an absolute beast though. I doubt it could be called a laptop. More like a portable desktop replacement. It weighs 11lbs. But it's really powerful. It plays all the current generation games with out a problem. Runs auto cad no problem and renders things with...

A 88 Turbo Virgin here. Please help.

You had better hope that mechanic knows how to tune a VPC(Vein Pressure Converter), or even knows what one is for that matter. Your average Joe mechanic is not going to know how to adjust one of those, and could potentially do more harm than good. Take it to a mechanic that has a Dynamometer...

A 88 Turbo Virgin here. Please help.

Well one thing that is not right, is your low coolant light(the bird cage light) is on. Fill up the coolant reservoir to make it go out. If you have already filled it up and the light came back on again you may have a BHG(blown head gasket). If the head gasket is blown it can tends to consume...
