    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Yeah, with 205k on the whole drivetrtain, I'm more likely to get a new/used/lower mileage one and put money into that vs this one. Its been odd ever since I've owned it, even compared to other R154's I've driven. I just didn't help it live any longer than it could have :evil2: You wanna talk...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Cool, just went through the videos taken by my Wife and found the run after my best run- unfortunately its the one where 2nd gear decided not to play nice anymore x.x http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_0SSWcIaQg

    Fuel Pump Help

Fuel pump doesn't run until the ECU sees the engine spinning. (it also runs when the key is in the start position) Toyota never did that pump priming that many domestics do. :) Edit: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Yup yup, that's me- cool deal! Thanks for taking/posting the video! Oh and btw, apparantly I'm a Nissan- LOL! EDIT: after lurking a bit, I realized you got the race between Sean (funky_monkey58) and I when he was driving Dan's (leecheater) car AWESOMESAUCE!

    OEM style spark plugs, colder

I think I should also mention the gaps- 23 thou is where my plugs are currently set, and that's what Shane recommends. Much less gap and I could see idle becoming not so fun.

    OEM style spark plugs, colder

OK, a little late but still got it! My tuner recommends NGK BCPR7ES plugs on the Supras he tunes. FYI- most Supras around here who get tuned by Shane are running E-85 and 2JZ's, so bear that in mind, but I still have a set on hand just in case. I also have a set of those Denso K20R-U plugs as...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

So I found out what I suspect was causing the vibration today. I think I neglected to balance the tires when I mounted them to the rims. :/ Threw then up on the balancer today and found some very interesting results: LH rim needed 5.5oz, RH needed 9oz wheel weights :O Kinda of a WTF moment when...

    OEM style spark plugs, colder

I'm at ???>400Hp on a 67mm @ 17/18 psi with no such problems? My tuner suggested an NGK plug (that I bought 6 of just in case) but the number eludes me atm. I'll get it when I get home tonight. What ignition are you using? (management/ignitor/coils/wires/etc)

    OEM style spark plugs, colder

FWIW, I use IS300 coils and denso K20R-U plugs from a Tundra and haven't run into any problems yet, I have seen 22's, but I think i was on an SC Tc (not sure about that one) You can use the K series plugs if you are using the IS300 coils because they are designed for an ISO plug :) If you're...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Eh, it still shifts into all the gears, its just when I'm pushing it that it acts up. 205,000 miles will do that sometimes :P Thinking about either a built R154 or a T56 swap. Need to do much more research beforehand because I would love to keep my ABS and speedo operational...

13psi cold, around 14.5 after a couple passes. Didn't mess with the pressures too much b/c I was focusing on getting used the the bias ply sway. see my build thread for the vibration discussion ;) Edit: Thanks Dan! We'll get your car up and kickin those drag Civics around soon enough!

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

Its definately in the tires because I did another pass on my street tires (a story in and of itself :P ) and no vibrations. I'll be checking the tires for runot and road force variations tomorrow at work. I'm thinking they were set on the ground for storage and not inflated :( Oh well, time for...

Andy- still no idea. Devin- Yes, an R154, but after that pass 2nd gear wasn't the same :( Couldn't/didn't want to get above 120 mph due to a really bad vibration that started up around 100, whole car was bouncing and jumping in shutdown :yikes:

Finally got to hit up a drag strip and made some pretty good passes! Going to need to fix the vibration up top to feel safe going faster but WHOO! Best time of the day was an 11.833 @ 118.3 MPH :D Built 7M, 67mm turbo @ 17lbs, BC 272's, AEM, E-85, R154, 26x10.5x15 ET Street wrinkle walls...
