yeah, in the last thread i said i didnt wanna waste good gauges on a bad fiberglass job. add to that the fact that my car is only NA right now, and these gauges are some of the better ones advance had. i didnt wanna get too in depth before the engine swap. after that, ill probably be redoing...
cre called it. ive got aluminum foil underneath and it should peel away pretty well. i trimmed and sanded some tonight, ill have pics in a little while. yeah, planning on removing the original, because three layers of fg alone should be enough to keep it rigid while maintaining about the same...
kai: good plan, but it almost seems too simple to do. im thinking you're gonna run into a lot of problems (not because of incompetency, but because the supra's engine compartment was designed for the placement of the turbo)

anyway, took the console/dash trim out and foiled it, then got the first layer of glass on. took me three...

here's more of my change on the idea. i think i might be passing half a dollar with 2 cents here and there. i think kai's idea of a custom hood would be the best way to go, if you overcame IJ's stated problems.

sure, if youve got enough styrofoam to make, say...a full scale wal-mart replica. and hey, just pay those japanese guys in cigs. i saw one of em smokin on the rear tire in a pic or two.
i don't see why everyone rags on Lamarossa so much. sure he made his supra look different, but it is a clean job and he did damn fine bodywork. that being said, the nsx is plain crazy, but that guy must've had a lot of time on his hands.
if you dont like lama's car, then ignore it but...
get in there with the elbow grease, is my guess. use some heavy duty cleaner on all the metal parts to remove oxidation, then give it a good coating of sealer or protectant wax (if they make such a thing) to keep it from coming back to the sparkly surface youve just made.
