    Dipstick upgrade?

Doesn't matter what year you ask for, all the dipsticks are the new type. Unless your dealer happens to have shelf stock of them that are 15 years old, anyway.

    cant even google this

Most of them go away with the MAFT pro... the idle air source goes away, replace with a filter... the blow off valve recirc fitting goes away, just vent to atmosphere... an oil catch can will simplify the PCV system, and after that all you have left is vacuum lines.

Hey, nice to see another lower mainland guy. Are you coming to the meet this month?

    Dipstick upgrade?

Mine cost me ~$12, and yes, you can read the oil level on the new ones easily. :)

Using a system that allows you to switch to MAP for your airflow measuring needs lets you clean out a lot of those hoses. The key is where you are measuring your airflow - stock does it right by the air filter, meaning that everything else needs to pull from or push to the system after the air...

    Fuel Pressure Priming

Ok, I just went out and checked, I still have ~2 psi and I ran the car last ~7 hours ago.

    Where can I get one?

Keep an eye out here, or pick up a new one from Jay Marks / Champion Toyota. As I recall, they are even in Texas.

    DOT Projector Headlight Conversion...LOOOK

Those aren't stock height - they are modified so they don't open as far anymore. This would be great if it would work, many of us have been looking for a quality bolt in kit for the Supra for years. Something that can be upgraded to HID hi & lo beams as well would be fantastic.

    external wastegate install with MBC

Thread moved from the FAQ area to General. I don't see a question, though, is there something you want to know about this?

For those with upgraded foglight bulbs...

Hmm... I haven't tried the Hellas, maybe I'll go find a set of those! These were regular 12v bulbs, and nowhere near 130w - I seem to recall that stock is ~55w and mine were ~75w.

    Supras getting old and boring

You're in California? Get a ride in a couple of the modded Mk3s down there. Then you'll know what you want to shoot for - and while you might be terrified, you won't be bored anymore! ;)

i think my sister is trying to 1up me

Heh... just wait until your sis figures out that your 20 year old car has less mechanical downtime than her brand new American Built GTO. :D And then wait until she figures out that your downtime doesn't increase when you drop in a 550 rwhp engine! Don't worry about it for now, though, just...

Rod Knock - Go JDM 7M or Overhaul Current 7M?

Sorry it took me so long to weigh back in here. The reason BHGs eat bearings is pretty simple - the BHG contaminated your oil with coolant, making the goo that is commonly referred to as the oil milkshake. The milkshake doesn't behave like oil should - it doesn't pump well, and it doesn't...

    300 movie

How can you go wrong when you combine Sin City and Gladiator in one film? I'm going to be there with bells on. :)

For those with upgraded foglight bulbs...

I tried this for a while... the extra heat generated by the higher wattage bulbs caused them to burn out every couple months. It was annoying enough that I went back to stock bulbs.

    Fuel Pressure Priming

Still stock pump, the one that came with the car in '89. I have a wally here, but I haven't dropped the tank to install it yet.

    Fuel Pressure Priming

Another bit of information to throw in here - I have an Aeromotive AFPR as well, and my fuel pressure doesn't drop when I shut it off. I've never timed it, but it's stayed pressurized for hours at least.

Really could people be more stupid

    I don't think he's joking...
  20. GrimJack

    would you call me stupid?

I didn't blow up my Toyota head gasket until 20psi on an upgraded CT - and when I tore it down there were clear signs of detonation. I think the OEM gaskets are good for a lot more power than most of the people here claim. Of course, your mileage may vary. On the flip side, I have since...
