but why bother chipping the coal off of that when you can buy something a bit more substantial? you're already going to replace the rods and mains on a troubled engine, just have some extra money from not having to clean 3 inches of rust and dirt from everywheres.
as for the 64lb holding strength of the magnet, i wouldnt put too much faith in that. i use some welding magnets for holding my pieces together while working and they hold 60 lbs, still not strong enough to resist a small jerk of the electrode if it gets stuck.
