hey h8r, i think we've started something. heres the plans, scanning more in a sec dimensions have changed a little, but its gonna look most like the top left frame.

lol, ive soaked it for a day in pb. im gonna take it to a tire shop and see if they can just mount the tire for me while its still on the axle shaft, then ill regrease the transaxle and get it ready to mount to the gokart frame.

craftsman lawn mower. i don't think its a snap or circlip on the axle anywhere since i removed the opposite one by prying an e-clip off, then the tire just slid off rather easily.

ill try the brake fluid. i had to cut the tire off of the rim...that took a while. now it's soaking in a gallon of pb blaster, we'll see if it moves any tomorrow.

i have fought with removing this damn tractor wheel from the axle. three slid off easily but the fourth is jammed. on the other axle, there is a key (?), a little square piece of metal that slides into grooves in the tire and axle, locking the two togther. is my problem in here, or is there any...

we'll see about that :biglaugh: headin to the junkyard today or tomorrow to check prices on seats, steering wheels and differentials/complete axles :)

im building the go kart frame for a mean mid engine setup, plus several sites have said it wont work. hows the torque with a 2.5" pulley?

thanks for straightening me out. did some more reading up, about retapping holes for new locations of the carb and fixing the slinger. can't wait to see the chopped mower looks like my best chance is using the lawnmower gearbox or going to the scrapyard and finding a whole diff/axle...

id love to, but im trying to stay under budget right now ($0). i plan on getting some square steel tubing and welding up a frame, getting pedals and such from northern. h8r, i dont want to ride as high as a mower. im gonna try and be around 8-10 inches off the ground. oh, and what's a clutch...

hey all, dug the old riding lawnmower out of the shed today and figured i'd use its 14hp briggs & stratton to power a homemade gokart. problem is, the engine has a vertical output shaft. has anyone here made a successful go kart or something of the sort using one of these engines...

env is too thick for me. go for the chocolate's flip phone brother, the vx8600. i got that a few months ago and haven't looked back since. the mp3 features are nice, touch sensitive buttons are great (cause they're not needed to use the main features), menus are easy to use and the screens...

looks almost like the mk4 trd wing modded to fit the mk3. course, mighta been something S2 whipped up.

new gaskets are only like $12 iirc from rockauto. coulda even been $5. easy to install, but make sure you torque the screws down to the factory spec. 8 ft-lb or they'll strip.
