    The "Forbidden Swap"?

For the JZ block to a 5 speed, you have 2 options. 1. W58 bellhousing (And probably transmission) from a NA Mk4. This is PROBABLY the best option, though I don't know if the shifter will end up in the correct place, and the driveshaft may not be the same. If the normak W58 will work, then...

    pulleys

I suppose that if you are going to live with the consequences of it being just a pulley, and NOT a harmonic balancer, then just the diameter is going to be enough. You say that you like the lightweight pulleys, which tells me that you're willing to suffer the consequences of removing the...

    AFR at 12-13 on decel?

Dunno what you're running for engine management, so I'm going to make guesses based on TCCS, and the fact that you changed plugs. My instinct on this is screaming "TPS!" More specifically, it's saying that you're getting an intermittant connection failure from IDL to E2. Normally, when...

    Turbo automatic question

The TCCS does nothing to limit boost while the auto shifts. It leaves boost on. This is one advantage to an auto on a turbocharged car. No waiting for the turbo to respool after a shift. The boost comes on, and stays on until you let off the gas. The automatic version of the TCCS does...

    Theft Deterrent System Question

The easiest thing to do if you get an aftermarket alarm is disable the factory one. The most common way to do so: Disconnect the switch at the hood latch, and ground the wire that goes to it. This tells the TDDS that the hood is open (Even if it isn't) so it never arms. Ever. Then you...

    Ever changed the timing belt?

Recommended: Definitely. The timing belt is one of the points of failure that will leave you stranded somewhere with an unstartable car. The 7M is supposed to be non-interference, however I don't want to test that theory... again... You do, however, have to "pull the front of the engine...

    Theft Deterrent System Question

The TSRM shows that there are 2 switches at the key cylinder. One is unlock/disarm. Presumably the other is lock/arm.

    stopper head gasket question

Yeah. I know what it costs. I also know what it costs if there is some damage from use, or, more likely from removal. If the cost of a gasket, albeit an expensive gasket saves me the cost of having the head rebuilt, then to me, that's a good deal. What might NOT be such a good deal is if...

    stopper head gasket question

Is the risk of re-using a gasket, and possibly having to re-do the rest of the head work worth the cost of a new gasket? I'm not a gambler by nature. Mind you, if you CAREFULLY inspect the gasket, and there is no visible damage, maybe it's okay.

    YOUR OPINION!!

I dunno. It's not like 15x,xxx miles is necessarily the factor. It's how hard the mileage was. Get the cheaper one. Get it rebuilt. Get rid of the crappy cast thrust bushing, and you've got a really strong transmission.

    Location for nitrous

Nope. The nozzle isn't exactly open anyway, and the N2O tank will be holding a LOT more pressure than your intake will. (If not, it couldn't inject any N2O/fuel into the intake under boost, right?) Edit: ZFast: Nice intake. Looks like she'll run like a scalded cat.

    good place to buy 7MGTE

But why not? It just seems logical to me... If I could figure out a way to swap a 7M-GTE into my Toyota Previa, I would. Well, stock intercoolers aren't hard to come by, and upgraded ones aren't that expensive either. I got my Spearco replica from Driftmotion, and it looks great. I'll be...

    good place to buy 7MGTE

It'll also depend on what you're buying it for. If you're buying a 7M-GTE to replace a 7M-GTE that you already have, then yeah, these places will be great. Buy yourself a longblock. If you're buying one for a swap into an NA Supra, then you'd better get yourself a front cut, to get the...

    2 years down the drain

A spell checker won't catch that. "Scrape" is a perfectly valid English word. This is, in fact, the type of thing that happens when one becomes overly dependent on spell checkers. I dunno that I'd EAT anything cooked over that grill. :nono: To the OP... $3000? Over 2 years? You...

    Let me see your trunks!

Mmmmmm... Audison amp. I just bought a pair of these, jut the newer generation, which I'll be installing this spring. The Audisons replace the Alpines which were stolen, though I also eBayed a pair of replacement Alpines as well. The old V12s were actually really good amps, before Alpine...

NA Pistons and cams in a Turbo motor?

How do you figure? More boost is cramming more air into the cylinder, thus more O2. More compression doesn't draw in more air, it only brings the air that the engine's displacement brings in to a higher pressure before igniting it. In order to get more O2 and burn more fuel, you need to...

NA Pistons and cams in a Turbo motor?

Lower compression, higher boost. Higher boost means more O2, which means more fuel, which means more potential power. That is, assuming equal maximum cylinder pressure.

    3.9 LSD fit in a 4.3 pumpkin?

Yes, it'll fit. But it does seem like more work than strictly speaking is necessary.

    XTD Clutch scam!

Well, I bought one of these scams. I figured that the PP would be stock, and hoped that the 6 puck sprung disc would work out for me. I will probably still put it on the car, until such time as I can get the ACT clutch setup that I really wanted. Edit: Though this is the "F1" clutch...

Just wondering if anyone has any experience/feedback with this setup.

Figures. I have one, still in the box. I figured that if it was at least as good as stock, it'd be worth the trouble to try it out. It appears to be a stock Toyota pressure plate that's been painted. The throw-out bearing and pilot bearing are in Toyota boxes, so they're probably stock as...
