    Best Downpipe

I have the RT downpipe. Racing style, to eliminate both cats. Nice bit of kit. Bolted up easy, and no hassles at all with mating up to the catback. I got that with the LIPP turbo elbow. It has the flex section, build quality was good. All in all, I'm very happy with it. It is, however...

Post LED clusters and climate controls.

Yeah, the displays that I'm buying are 0.5", so they'll be somewhat larger than stock, but I'm sure that I can make them fit in the window, and not look stupid. I'm just hoping that the display is common cathode. If not, then I won't be able to make the parts that I bought work at all. (Just...

    7mgte engine light error

Well, not being much of one for coincidence, I'd say that it's something you've done. What codes are you getting? TSRM Page FI-23 will tell you how to check codes. You can also try resetting the ECU by pulling the ECU fuse for 15 seconds, but this sounds like it'll come back anyway.

    Stock IC

Spray on paint stripper? I wouldn't use abrasives or sandblasting, too much chance of damaging the aluminium. I also wouldn't worry too much about getting ALL of the paint stripped, particularly if you're planning to repaint it. It's not worth spending a lot of money, with (much better)...

Post LED clusters and climate controls.

I have a better photo, less blurred. (I used a mini tripod on the center console.) Yes, you could use a bluie filter, and it would show blue. It wouldn't be AS dim as my red one, but would still be somewhat dimmer than it is now. I removed the green filter at the CC face, and the green...

    Choosing Exhaust sizes

I certainly am not goig to tell you that your car isn't fast, since it obviously is, but I find your explanation of "just add more fuel" to be somewhat simplistic. It's obvious that clearing the exhaust gasses away from the cylinders is the function of the exhaust, and it certainly seems like...

    Picture of knock sensor locations

I was pretty sure that the NA knock sensor was actually closer to the center of the block. There are 3 bosses in the block casting. I'd have to see an NA block again to be sure, but I was quite certain that the NA knock sensor is in the center boss. I don't have pictures though, and didn't...

they estimated head resurface 500$$$ 0.o?

It depends on what's all done. I brought my head into a shop, and it cost me a bit over $900. I do think that this was a bit high, but there was a lot to do. I brought it in with the cams and valves still in, so they: Disassembled the head Cleaned and surfaced the casting. Cleaned the...

    Choosing Exhaust sizes

There may be people who disagree. Obviously there are people with Civics who think that a 3" or larger exhaust on an NA 1.2L displacement engine isn't a waste. It's my opinion that a 3" exhaust on an NA doesn't do good things for it, though I conceed that a good header design can make a lot...

    Exhaust Question

If your downpipe has a flex section, that works better, but I'd personally recommend that you leave at least one flange in place, if for no other reason than to make it easier to remove the exhaust if/when you need to.

so i searched for real on this one..

Well, a complete rebuild will get you a good, solid engine that you know is ready for some serious upgrades, but is, as you will surmise, expensive. A JDM engine with an overhaul (new gaskets, including head gasket) is signifigantly cheaper, but there is an element of risk that it may also...

    Aftermarket CT26 Manifold

It's not a matter of whether a bolt on is a "real" turbo or not, it's a matter of who buys the bolt-on turbos, and how many of them would also buy a manifold for it. I'm considering a bolt-on turbo as a preference to a CT-26 upgrade. For me, that's about as far as I'm willing to go, and...

    body molding questions

Yeah, there are trim threads all the time, but people are looking for something CHEAP, and cheap doesn't pay for much in the way of development.

Did i fry the wiring in my Cigarette Lighter wiring?

If you got sparks from a 12V line, then whatever that 12V line was attached or fused to is where the problem is likely to happen. It's unlikely that the positive for the cigarette lighter is going to be an issue, unless you grounded that. The other 12V line, is that something that you added...

    Aftermarket CT26 Manifold

Hmmm... I hadn't considered that about the oil gasket. Makes perfect sense as soon as someone points it out, of course.

    86.5 diff ques

That's still good gear lube. FWIW, you can get a 4.300:1 LSD from an NA either in the States with the sport package, or from any Canadian spec NA.

    Choosing Exhaust sizes

Well, I know that with any NA car the idea is to keep the exhaust gas velocity up, because this uses the inertia of the exhaust in the system already to help pull the exhaust from the manifold. It is my understanding that this is the reason for the Civics with the huge exhausts losing power...

    e-brake bypass for dvd player

Then disconnect the illumination wire from the wiring harness. That way the DVD player has no way of knowing when the lights are on.

    e-brake bypass for dvd player

99% of e-Brake switches are ground switches, so all that you SHOULD need to do is ground the wire. If you tapped it into the plug, then it will function as it should, and only show ground when the e-brake is applied. I would suggest that this be on a separate switch, so that you can...

    Low Fuel Light Stays On?

LEDs, being solid state are more of an on/off thing. They're either on or not. The sender for the low fuel light is much more in the analogue domain, so a filament lamp is much more suited to it. What you're going to need to do to leave that as an LED is to implement a circuit, probably a...
