That reminded me! There was a problem with the wastegate flapper on the early turbonetics units. I remember reading about it when putting mine on. It's never been a problem on mine, so I suspect they fixed it before I purchased mine.

Actually, I was talking about the back of the intake plenum. The spot you are referring to is the first end of the EGR, the other end feeds into the intake plenum on the back. If the hole on the back of the intake plenum isn't plugged, it will leak air into the intake bigtime.

Something is leaking air... and if I had to guess without any information at all, I'd say the coupler from the 3000 pipe to the throttle body is likely the culprit. These are usually old, hard, brittle, and split on the underside. Pull off your 3000 pipe and check that coupler. Either that or...

The Lexus AFM is supposed to be balanced by larger injectors. You won't find many people running the Lexus AFM on a stock fuel system... at least not that still have an intact engine.

Search for FCD* and you'll get most of the threads.

I did the same thing. But I also took the valve covers off and rechecked them in a week after it was running... sure enough, the values had changed a bit on a few, so I used the other method to replace those.
