Silicone Heater Hose Should I, if so where from?

Must admit, I'd love to replace the stock rubber coolant 90 degree hoses ... there's two of them that seem to suffer from heat degradation, one under the thermostat housing, and the other on the back of the head. I've had one of those fail already and cook the engine. :(

brake fluid pissing out the tranny seal!!?

Pull the inspection cover, then put the slave on. That way you can see the end of the rod seat on the clutch fork.

What is there to do in Reno?

Two things. 1. Gamble. 2. Drink. Other than that, not much, which is why I've never been back.

Where to find a Pin for my CPS rebuild?

The pin that comes in the kit from the MR2 club isn't the same as the original - it's a rolled pin, not a solid. I've seen them for sale in various sizes in regular hardware stores. Seems to be working fine in my CPS, anyway.

    Mixing clutch component

Sure, I've done this kind of thing many times. I think Driftmotion carries a separate disc as well.

    Ceramic coated intercooler!??

Sure, this has been done... problem is, it's only really useful when you start the engine. Eventually the insulation gets heat soaked, and then it's keeping the pipe (and the air) hot instead of cold. A better method is a front facing intake manifold, and scrap the whole crossover pipe idea. I...

    Fuel cut!

It only comes with the free version, as far as I know. I had to buy the full version in addition to the MAFT unit, anyway.

    OEM Shimless buckets!?!?!

Has anyone ever actually spit the shims out at high RPM? I've heard lots of folks worry about it, but I've never heard of someone actually doing it.

    Ceramic coated intercooler!??

Essentially just fancy paint for amplifier heat sinks, and I've never seen it come that way from the factory, only high end custom jobs. Working in the industry yourself, I'm sure you know the deal, some big shot celeb has enough pull that they can get Rockford (for example) to send them bare...

    Ceramic coated intercooler!??

There are thermo transparent ceramics, I've run into them in the car audio industry. However, they are extremely rare and expensive as hell. It's literally cheaper to plate your stuff with gold.

    I need info on a ct26 upgraded with a 62-1

I wouldn't upgrade the turbo until I already have the following: - all basic maintenance - new hoses, vacuum lines, gaskets, etc - intake - complete exhaust from the turbo back - intercooler, hardpipes, aftermarket BOV - bigger fuel pump - adjustable fuel pressure regulator - ditch the J-tube -...

    why switch to 91-92 dipstick

Is it similar, or exactly the same? My original '89 was similar, and a serious PITA to read. This dipstick is in no way difficult to read.

    why switch to 91-92 dipstick

No, all the late models came with the dipstick you have. As I recall, this wasn't released until well into the Mk4 era, which is why the only way to get one is from the dealer.

    why switch to 91-92 dipstick

Have a look at the picture. This is the newer style dipstick, many people have this confused with the ones that came in the later cars. To my knowledge, you cannot get this dipstick without purchasing one from Toyota.

    why switch to 91-92 dipstick

Negative, Ghostrider. Later model dipsticks are *MUCH* better.

    question about dash mats....

No. A decent dash mat does not exist. They all resemble either dead sheep or carpet. Or a bad combination of both, sometimes with artificial dye added.

Um.. Oil Return line??? (stupid question time)

It's called a 'ventilation hose', part number 12263-42010, should be able to get it for about $25 from Champion Toyota or Vancouver Toyota, whichever is closer to you. You can do it differently if you like, as long as it's an easy gravity fed flow back to the bottom mount, you're good.
