Cars manufactured in August 1989 and on have the "7M" crank. That is the "1990" Model Year in North America, Japan doesn't use the same model year designation we do, so they would call any car made in 1989 a "1989" Supra, which confuses things. For the USA "1990" model year was the first year...

Yup, we've had techs do 26 hours worth of work in a workday before.

Book time for the timing belt is 2.5 hours, most techs can do it faster, even if you got a slow tech, there was plenty of time for it to get done.

I don't think the head gasket was proper blown, just leaking. It was a pretty much mint 100% stock car, as far as I know it was driving fine, but there was combustion gas getting into the coolant or something along those lines.
