Getting a car with IRS to hook up at the drag strip is more about setup than gearing.
Go here and read this thread: http://www.supramania.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=87 give those tips a try.
And remember not to run too much air pressure in the rear... I can't count the number of people I've...
So is this, especially when there's nothing posted to back it up.
For proof that a FFIM isn't required, check out http://7mpower.com/ and http://www.gtepowered.com/. More than a few 7M cars there making lots of power without a FFIM.
Are there benefits to the FFIM? Sure. However, there are...
Furthermore, a ban won't stop you from being able to read what's going on, so what are you hoping to achieve exactly?

Dude. What. The. Fuck.
Mike doesn't own the place. He owns the server we host it on. Get that clear in your head.
There is a way to appeal a problem with an admin. THIS isn't it. I don't even know what the problem is, but given this thread, I'm unlikely to even bother trying to find...
Ya, I felt that way when my wife got pregnant. But so far, raising kids isn't much more difficult that building a 7M engine that lasts.
Oh...
Wait...
lol - actually, perfectly serious, haven't had a problem with either so far. :D Your mileage may vary, I guess.
Actually, it's not that far out. I drove for a year or more with both motor mounts snapped - and I've pulled *many* 89+ engines and had the bottom half of both motor mounts fall off because they were snapped.
Leaving the nuts off would prevent them from outright breaking, I guess. :D
Hmm... I should point out that I'm *not* an Alpine fan. I an currently running their 7969, bought it new for entirely too much money, and it's been a lemon since day one.
As for sound quality, my buddy is another 40+ year old guy who mostly listens to talk radio and MP3s, so that's really not...

PS: Also father of two. My eldest turns six on March 12th, my youngest is 3 in May.
I've been out of touch with car audio for years now, so I'm looking for some advice from those who still have a foot in it.
A buddy of mine is looking to replace his stock head unit with something modern. Budget of $150, ebay / online is fair game.
What would you suggest, and why?
Unfortunately that test is only so good.
If you do the test and it's obviously loose, fine. But if you do the test and it looks ok, well, you're not out of the woods, because it might be *just* tight enough to pass the test, but not to stop the rattle.
Worse, it could be rattling because a...
Loose flywheel sounds EXACTLY like rod knock. Been there, done that. :)
Pretty easy to check - or it was on the car I worked on. Pulled one of the clutch inspection covers, then rocked the crank back and forth a bit using the main pulley bolt up front while a buddy checked through the...
No, that's only a factor if you are running low on oil. There's been rumor of the occasional guy managing to starve the oil pickup doing hard track days with a lot of constant G-forces, but I've never seen any hard evidence.
This story would have been better had you opened the door with blood dripping off your arms from the elbows down and a knife in each hand.
But then you probably wouldn't have gotten to sign for the stuff.
No, I was thinking that you might have two entirely unrelated problems - a malfunctioning sensor causing the gauge problem and a clogged gallery causing your knock from oil starvation.
Verify the pressure with another gauge, first. If you end up pulling it apart and it's always roasting the...
