yep makes sense. it does actually change the a/f. then if you want those settings you simply write down the corrections and put that into your table and save it.

im reading the manual now, and it does state early on "the translator pro does not self-tune, but will correct its output while at wot. see seperate section"

if you for sure wanted to upgrade to ffim later on, i would suggest going ahead and getting an ic w/ outlets on each end. would make piping from the ic outlet to the throttlebody a little longer now but would be able to use for the ffim when the time comes.
i have seen the cable connection come loose inside the afc itself. if all else fails carefully remove the case screws and check that the cable is completely seated in the connector on the afc.
