    MrOizo's JZA70 - 2JZGTE and V160!!

The V160 is definitely notchier than the R154, not smoother. Jeff

Building a Widebody Quicksilver JZA80 (Now with New pics!)

The 2 main differences are; 1, that it doesn't need a gasket, so you can take it off and on as many time as you want, haha. 2, that you can clock the entire turbocharger on the manifold so you can position it exactly where you want it, no need to cut and weld the flange, etc. Plus it's just...

    2jz flywheels

The 1JZ R154 flywheel is exactly the same as a 7M R154 flywheel, just with the JZ bolt pattern instead of the 7M. None of the W58 flywheels are the same. Jeff

    Finally got my own domain

Site looks cool. The Celica XX didn't come out that much earlier than the Celica Supra though, just by one month (07/81 versus 08/81). Jeff

    Machine just the timing cover?

Yeah, I'd use the other crank, provided it's not damaged like that and still round. Jeff

    Machine just the timing cover?

Yeah, looks like Toyota was more consistent on the 7M than on some other engines. I've checked a few years of the TSRM and they're all the same. They still do it weird on the 7M though, haha. You'll need to get the numbers from the crank and rods to figure out what rod bearings you need...

what is the torque requirements for the...

toy fanatic78's specs are for a 7M I think. I assume you're looking for JZ values. You didn't specify 1JZ or 2JZ, so here are the 2JZ values, I'd be surprised if the 1JZ is different. Cam Caps: 14 ft/lbs. Oil Pump: 15 ft/lbs. Harmonic Balancer: 239 ft/lbs. Water Pump: 15 ft/lbs. Jeff

    Machine just the timing cover?

Toyota has used more than 1 numbering system in the past, depending on what year you have. What numbers are stamped on the block and/or crank (whatever is applicable)? Jeff

    Machine just the timing cover?

The pressure relief valves are actually in the bolts, not the nozzles themselves. The bolts should be replaced. The Supra in Japan never came with the 7M-GE. It had the 7M-GTE from the get go, squirter nozzles were added at the same time the 7M-GTE made it's debut here in North America. Same...

    Another Rod Knock Thread

I've never seen a 7M spontaneously develop rod knock. Every single time it happens it's one of 2 things: low on oil, or coolant mixed with the oil. Both of those are caused by owner negligence. Jeff

What happens when the trust bearings are not installed??

Crank end play should always be checked, there's no reason not to install new thrust bearings. Wow. Jeff

New United States Formula 1 Team

What are you talking about? That wasn't the first time, that was basically the last time, F1 was in the USA for years and years before that happened. If I'm thinking about the same time you are anyways, which I probably am. Jeff

New United States Formula 1 Team

Erm... no. Last race held there was in 2007, last race held in Canada was last year. Neither are on the 2009 schedule. Jeff
