I would buy a cheap car for a DD and just keep the supra to as a toy you can work on whenever you want without having to worry about needing a car if it breaks down.
As for rebuilding it with forged internals, it just depends on your power goals.
Check in the thread above this, guy just made...
You should PM a mod and get them to move this to the build-up section
as for your oil system, take a look at this. http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62838
And its probably a very good assumption that the reason the car wont crank up is because of the hacked harness. Take it...
^ Stock HG works fine for lower HP numbers as long as it has the proper torque.. When the dealership did your HG they torqued to factory 56ft/lbs which = your problem. Just get a metal headgasket and some ARP studs.
If you're only getting the head resurfaced and not the block, use a stock...
I think just about every tool i have is craftsman and ive never broken one thing. And just about the only thing i dont have in my arsenal is some ratcheting wrenches..damn i need to go get some of those.
Yea you deffinately want to send the turbo to a professional(like driftmotion) for a rebuild. Once taken apart or when parts are changed, the turbo needs to be rebalanced. You'll probably be alright for a while if they are small chips and there is no shaft play.
Yeap, when i first put my motor in i gapped the plugs to 32 and had a bad miss when i hit boost. Took them out and regapped to .28 and it worked perfectly.
I hate that..Everytime i go to oreillys or autozone there are usually girls behind the counter who have no clue about anything on a car. And on top of that, they act like they hate their job and dont want to be there AND talk on their cell phones instead of helping customers.
Thanks. I was kind of dissappointed about not breaking 13's though. Next time I go i'll have a new clutch and intercooler so that shouldnt be a problem. I'll probably stick some drag radials on the ol' sawblades so i dont have to worry about skinnies. That and i have to drive it 30 mins to the track
I got the paint stripper from autozone im not sure of the name though. Ive also used it on the side trim of a few cars, my only reason for getting it anyways.
