Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

I am practically done, there is some smoke coming from under the turbo but it smells like the pb blaster and engine degreaser burning off or it is most likely that doesn't smell like anything I should worry about yet. I just have to bend the oil dipstick bracket upward a little bit so it can...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

My accordrion hose is falling apart, can I leave it off just to make sure I have my timing right or will that also affect the timing or give me a rough idle? Also where can I get a replacement that is metal instead of plastic or whatever or can I make one myself from home depot? I managed to...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

Yea I ordered the studs they will come in next week but I test fitted the manifold with all of the original studs and the two that have stuck nuts fit perfectly and tightening it may allow me to break them loose. Should I use the studs I have now or wait next week for the new ones? If I put the...

All of the studs are out of the head but there are two studs that still have the nuts on them and I can't get them off. How much are studs from the dealer for all 7? Tried heating it up on the stove for a good 10-20 minutes and still no luck so I am going to the dealership and see how much it...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

I am done helicoiling but there are two studs that have stuck nuts any ideas on how to remove them? They are currently soaking in seafoam and pb blaster lol. I got the others off by using another nut on the head end of the stud and tightening it then breaking loose the nut but that doesn't seem...

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

How does the green kit compare with OEM? Also how difficult is this compared to say changing a head gasket? That is something I did this past summer and this seems pretty easy compared to that lol.

DIY: R-12 to R-134a Conversion (How To)

Could you just convert the system to R134a then take it somewhere to have it vacuumed and recharged? I plan on doing this conversion then taking it to a friend of mine who runs a shop to have him run a diagnostics on my AC system to see if I have leaks or need to change anything then recharge...

Thank you sir, one of them went in kind of deep but the stud gets fully in there with the helicoil so I don't think it will affect the torque on it.

Quick update until I get the reduced shank drill bit on wednesday, here is how the car sits at the moment I finished all of the holes except for one and I need to find a way to remove that tang at the end. Some holes I can't get a good amount of force when I hammer a flathead to break off the...

Nice I kind of like the Probe it's in that category of 80s/90s cars that look almost timeless in a way. Yea I could have taken it to my friend's shop and have him do it but it would be damn expensive I could have finished the car, test driven it by now if I had that reduced shank drill bit it...

Status update: I got all of the holes done except for the one by the firewall I am going to get a reduced shank drill bit soon and finish it up. I tried fixing my thermostat housing because that has a bolt that broke off in it but no luck, so I will have to use seal packing again to seal it...

Changing my head gasket, me asking for your help while doing this

There are two studs that stayed in the head should I remove and helicoil them or leave them alone? I remember seeing there is a double nut method on removing studs you put one nut on then tighten another one on top of it then that will allow you to loosen the stud. EDIT: I removed the studs...

It's pretty much like WD40 but I think better at penetrating and such it's more oily than WD40. In comparison WD40 is like water where PB blaster is like oil in liquid form it's great stuff that is what I used to help break loose stuck bolts or nuts and it works greats.
