Real WHP of a jdm 2jzgte VS usdm 2jzgte?

I've seen bone stock J-spec cars dyno at around 265whp, so I know 280 is low. They were definitely detuned compared to the USDM ones though, that's for sure. Smaller injectors, turbos, cams, fuel pump, fuel pump ECU, etc. Once you start modifying the engine though, it really makes no...

    jdm supra parts

Yeah... that's an interesting point. I could swear my set of Euros had a convex mirror, but looking in my parts catalog for Europe, there is no difference between RHD and LHD mirror glass at all. My RHD J-spec AE86 mirror definitely was convex though... it was wacky. Didn't say "Objects in...

    jdm supra parts

It's possible the Japanese ones don't have a convex on either mirror. I'll have to look closely at a couple JZA70's up here and see. I know Europe definitely does have a convex mirror on the passenger one, so getting LHD is important. Jeff

JZA70 rear sway bar different than the MA70 USDM one?

Different JZA70's and MA70's had different sway bars. Most JZA70's had the same rear sway bar as the 91-92 North American one. If you are going to sell it, please do so in the appropriate forum, this is not the place. Remember to read the selling rules before doing so. Jeff

    jdm supra parts

I used to have a RHD mirror on the driver's side of my old AE86, and a LHD mirror on the passenger side, so I had convex mirrors on both sides. The driver's side mirror was really weird with it being convex. You get used to it, but I'd much rather have the proper LHD mirrors. There's no way...

how can i remove the crank pulley bolt in an auto?

Yeah, a tool to hold the crank pulley in place is the best way if you cannot use an impact or it won't get it off. Either get the correct SST, or use a generic holder of some sort. Jeff

What is this valve for, and what are these vac lines?

That VSV activates the coolant flow to the heater core. Yours probably stopped working and was bypassed. The vacuum hose currently going to the top of the valve should go to the nipple on the left side of the VSV, the inner (right side) nipple should have a hose from it to the top of the water...

    Targa vs. Non-Targa - weight & performance

Reliable number for what? Curb weight? I suppose I can look. Turbo or N/A, manual or auto, Canada or USA model? That has nothing to do with what your car actually weighs, well it does, but not like that. Like was said, that is the maximum weight when the car is fully loaded. Jeff

    OEM Bearings

If I was being picky and sticking with Std size bearings, here's what I'd do: If you see no damage to the crank/bearings, take the crank out, send it to be polished. Once you get the crank back, mic the crank journals as well as all the rods and the block. Confirm that your measurements match...

    Targa vs. Non-Targa - weight & performance

Methinks your "Toyo-dealer" is full of it. As per Toyota, the sport roof model weighs 86lbs more than the hardtop. Source: Toyota 1990 NCF Publication NCF017TX, Page 150-151 Jeff EDIT: Side note, MKIV targas were only 26lbs heavier than the hardtop. Aluminum targa FTW, haha.

What's classified as a BPU mod and an APU mod?

Mostly used by MKIV guys, rarely by MKIII guys. Typically APU has an aftermarket turbo and everything else needed to support it. Jeff
