    New Torsen for the MK3?

Retail is about $2500, I'd think you could get one from your local Lexus dealership within a few weeks. It seems it probably fit a few other cars as well (perhaps IS250 and GS300). I'll need to check into those. Not cheap new from Lexus though, that's for sure. Jeff

    New Torsen for the MK3?

41301-53020 Torsen LSD from a JCE10 Altezza Gita RWD and the USDM Lexus IS300 (01-05). Will definitely fit into the MA70 case, and I'm about 90% sure our axle stubs should fit it. Jeff

    Noob 1JZ/2JZ Q

It would be possible with some custom length rods, but it's easier and keeps a better rod ratio if you use a 2JZ block. Jeff

jdm ecu vs us ecu, how can you tell which is which?

Part number is the best way. If you have it, post the part number of the ECU you are planning on getting. Jeff

    Torquing cams

7M = non-interference. There is no position you can leave the crank at that will bend a valve. Jeff

    head gasket

If you are only doing 0.5mm oversized, stock gasket will be fine. If you are going .050" oversized, it will likely not work for you. Jeff

    Bearing selection

If the standard size aftermarket bearings are slightly thinner than the thinnest ones Toyota offers, that's perfect for a "cheap" build (if you were doing such a thing). Toyota's spec for max clearance is quite a bit higher than their standard sizes. With a thinner bearing, no matter what size...

    Bearing selection

They're just saying you use a number 2 in either case. Number 2 is just a specification for the thickness range of the bearing, it is used to make the correct clearance between the crank and rod/block. Jeff

    High performance altenator choices

Hmm... in all my listings for Japan, Europe, Australia, and North America, the highest amperage FJ80 alternator listed is 90A. The HDJ80 had a 100A alternator, but that was the highest I found for any 80 series. (EDIT: The highest the MR2 had was also 100A) Jeff

    FlyW dowl pins

Dowel pin removal slide hammer to remove them. If they're not damaged, they need not be replaced. If there is any question, or you just feel like being on the safe side, replace them anyways. Jeff

Finally! Where to source a vented gas cap!

I know this is closed, and I'm leaving it that way, but in case someone comes across it in the future. 77704-14240 is the part number for the Japan-spec charcoal canister. Jeff

    Bearing selection

There are 5 rod sizes and 5 main sizes. You've only posted the sizes of the crank, not of the rods and the block, these numbers are also required to know bearing size. Once you have your block measured and your rods measured, you can get the numbers for those, and then add them together to get...
