OMG! Shaking CPS wires works! lol

The JZ cam and crank position sensors fail as well, and the cam ones leak too, so I don't think the JZ setup is that much better, though I do think it is more accurate. Jeff

    1jz vaccum line / 2jz water pump on 1jz

As for the water pump, that port on the bottom is simply a weep port, Toyota had a drainage hose coming off of it going down to avoid it hitting anything (alternator), but it is not really required. No need to plug it. Jeff

What are the differences in the intercooling piping?

He's swapping the 7M-GTE into the 89 N/A, but has intercooler piping from an 88. Which is fine by the way, 88 had the same I/C piping as 89+, only 87 was different. Jeff

    1jz with waste spark

Toyota uses twin-ground electrode spark plugs in a few different engines, I'm not 100% sure why, but they do seem to run better with them installed. Jeff

    Electric water pump

You will probably need a 2JZ-GTE rear housing (16120-88400) to use this on a 1JZ-GTE with a factory hydrofan setup. Jeff

No I'm not saying you need to, just that I found I needed to. I wouldn't unless you're installing new rings. Jeff

    low oil pressure

I purchased a JDM 4A-GZE from an AE92, like most Japanese engines, it was supposedly low mileage, though you don't know how long it's been sitting, or whatever. I pulled it apart and it actually looked pretty darn good. No sludge issues, looked pretty clean, however after sitting for years the...
