What kind of time frame are you looking at Dan? I'm putting my car back together (see build here). I'm hoping to drive it again in less than two weeks.
I recieved my resonators today, but I have a question about them. They are 3" on the in & out side, but in the middle 12" section, it chokes down to about 2.5". This section is perforated & I assume that there is some sort of sound absorbing material behind it, so I don't think that it will be...
I just spoke to my machinist, he said that I'll get my motor on Monday. :icon_bigg This makes me very happy.
Anyway, he said that he can't deck the block with the front plate on because his machine requires that it the block rests on the crank journels. He took .007's off of the block...
It *could* warp again at a much lower temp than the first time. Also, are the valve seats hardened inserts? I don't think they are, and that could cause trouble, too.
Just some thoughts.....
To expand on what Grim said, it depends on what you goals are. If you want a solid daily driver, you might have to spend $500-$2000 on it depending on the condition of the car when you bought it. If you want to mod the hell out of it, well that's a different story.
