Yea I plan on ordering the Gates from Rockauto, $23.79 and the Felpro gasket. What 5% off? Anyone have any promo codes I can use so I can get faster shipping? I looked up the part number and found that the pump online OEM costs a little over $100 and judging from my experience with stuff like...
I used my old 7M head bolts to mount the motor on the stand, fits perfectly. My engine stand is rated for 1,500 lbs. Was the impact you rented a cordless or an air impact? I don't have an air compressor, obviously.
Well with all of that aside tonight on the way home my fucking water pump...
I am afraid if I try to use a breaker bar and a long pole that it will snap the bolts holding the motor on the engine stand because it bends so much it scares me lol. I am thinking about stacking something under the motor to support it.
I've read people using the torch method and I am not a fan of that but it doesn't really matter for me because I am replacing the crank bolt and pulley anyway unless the heat would damage the threads in the block?
I tried using a corded impact driver to remove the crank bolt on my 2jz while on the engine stand and that didn't help I need an air impact lol or a torch. I tried using my breaker bar with a foot or so pipe to get more leverage and I was lifting the motor with the engine stand. OMG I just had...
Anyone use the stainless exhaust from Driftmotion? I am looking to upgrade my stock exhaust to a full 3in with a high flow cat, would that keep me acceptable for emissions? I have a muffler in my garage that I would use, so I am not worried about that.
I need to replace my Ebrake boot and arm rest, anyone recommend a good place for that?
Yea my leather wrap is worn I want to replace it with a new one but screw spending 200 bucks on a shift knob lol.
Why does everyone have the OEM shifter without the leather wrap? I tried buying a new OEM shifter, $170+ at the dealer, and I don't think it has the leather wrap on it.
No I haven't done a vacuum leak test I think I do have a vac leak somewhere but I replaced every vacuum line I saw at one point but they might need to be secured down now that I think about it. I will go over the lines again and check them all out and ziptie them down, hate vacuum lines lol. How...
I've noticed mine has been acting weird at idle at times it would lope for a bit then go back to being smooth. The other day my car would not even idle at all, after I pulled out of my drive way I got to a stop sign and put it in neutral and the car stalled, I started it back up and kept driving...
The hyperblink is an easy work around lol you can get a flasher relay that supports LEDs from an auto parts store like Advance auto parts for a few bucks. It is a bitch to replace though I will tell you that.
The rings will cost more than the pistons from toyota lol. Thanks.
I use Redline MT-90 and have read and been told it's the best, no complaints at all for mine.
My 2JZGTE pistons and rods came in today thanks to Jeremy on the forum, I want to replace the rings and oil rings should I order the NPR GTE ring set from driftmotion or are there better rings?
Upload them MEOW!! I know the feeling of starting up a motor after working on it for so long I felt the same way when I changed my head gasket took me over 2 months and hearing her fire up smoothly was an awesome feeling.
