Aisin rates it for 345ft-lbf. Highest I know of in a factory application is actually the RA63 in the IS220d which had 300ft-lbf, highest I know of in a factory-approved application is the TRD Supercharged Tacoma which uses the RA60 and has 334ft-lbf, finally the highest I know of in an...
So things are now finally coming together with the transmission and clutch bolted up and the engine harness, which I finished modifying and cleaning up yesterday, being installed on the engine. The new fuel feed line has been connected to the tank as well.
Jeff
Started swapping everything I wanted to keep from my original engine over to the new engine yesterday, as expected the used engine looks even cleaner inside than my original engine, pretty rare when buying a used engine! I got a pretty amazing deal to be honest.
Also finally got the...
Looking over the engine when I got it, I noticed a few things that looked pretty clean, but didn't think too much about it other than it looked like the heads had likely been rebuilt at one point or another. But looking at it again today, it looked like the timing cover (which I was planning on...
Why leave it alone? I want it to be faster! Haha. The chassis and suspension are good for so much more than the 4GR can provide.
It's going to be awesome.
Jeff
4GR-FSE successfully removed. Now to swap over any parts that I want to keep onto the used engine and need to finish modifying the engine-side of the wiring harness for the manual transmission. :) My attempts to find a larger clutch disc that would fit the 4GR pressure plate and flywheel have...
After years of waiting and researching, I feel like everything is right for me to start this project and I'm pretty excited to say the least!
Car started as a 2011 IS250 6MT and over the years I have done a lot of changes to the car, including suspension, LSD, a few computers and exterior...
Bit of an update, I'm still trying to find that vibration and am going to pull the rear end apart this winter. It's got to be something in there, it's just got to be. I'm suspecting something to do with the pinion bearings, but I'm not entirely sure. Recently I remembered that when we were...
The year goes on, I try to fix vibrations and show up at other car shows. Decent.
I got a set of Falken Azenis RT-615K 195/60R14 tires for the car in an attempt to fix that last bit of vibration in the car and it turns out that one of the wheels is actually bent. I am getting it repaired...
The radio will have the same connectors, but will look different, still it will fit. The 1990 would have the airbag, etc., so that's not as easily swapped over but you could technically use the parts if you really wanted to.
Most of the stuff will fit, there are a few cosmetic differences, and...
Do it anyway, haha. Last year I drove to Florida and up the east coast to Maine. In 2011, I drove to New Orleans then over to the pacific coast.
Just do it, there are fun times to be had out there!
Jeff
There are some plans for the car that will make it a bit better to drive for the next time we go, will cut some stuff out, but add some other stuff. Try to improve each time we go, haha.
I will keep the Peak to Peak Highway in mind for next time. Still need to do the Going-To-The-Sun Road as...
Yeah, just the one car, I really need to start bringing a support vehicle along, lol.
Which sandwich? I would like to eat this sandwich. :p Your trip looks like it's shaping up nicely! I did a few similar ones (but without the Supra) the last couple of years.
Jeff
Did this trip last month and thought some of you guys might like to read about it. :)
In May of 2013, Stanzaspeed and I embarked on an exciting road trip in his 1991 JZA70 Twin Turbo R. It was the first time in the 7 years he'd owned the car that he actually took it on an extended trip and...
