Would it be possible to post an excel style rpm vs load Ign timing chart? the graphs you posted are great, just difficult to nail down specifics.
Thanks!
did the best I could to pin point the peak tq point on the maps 3P posted... we should be seeing 25-30* at full tilt... I heard that toyotas work around for a mid range turbo was gobs of timing up top, didnt think it was such a big gob...
if you plan on doing direct intake manifold injection do your homework. I've read there are a few more things to consider (like vac on the meth nozzle etc..).
I have seen similar timing readings as ken, 15-16 psi should be the limit on pump imho. I always tuned for a tick below FC so I...
go get em man! I think it will be a good race! How the overboosting and meth tune going?
Its a good time to push the motor till its a hulk of twisted metal! Considering winters coming up and all and there is more iron than in china sitting in your garage..(in the form of 7m blocks!)
^ this, dont take it any further unless you plan on pulling the head.
Two main issues to consider. You cant properly bottom tap and clean the threads with the head on. More importantly... removing one stud/bolt at a time is begging for some head warping which = BHG.
Do a standard re tq...
if that law is true.. there is bound to be a "cop shot over car" story at some point in the future..:yikes: reminds me of the old "count the cents and watch the dollars" form of business financials but applied towards saving the environment.
8 thousandths of warp-age was enough to leak coolant externally down the side of the block for me with a stock HG. To the naked eye, the surface looked perfect.
i messed with the remaining "high" spots since i knew at least 10 thou. had to come off the block.. with 800 grit I could remove a...
was tap water used?
most manufactures use g-05, toyo, benz, bmw etc.. all g-05 with different color additives. You can get g-05 at napa for $12-15 a gallon.
^ how will the rings exit the block? no load reving is about the easiest work out the rings are going to get. Take a look at how piston engine airplanes are broken in.. good stuff to consider
you *should* be hitting a fuel cut at 1800 rpms like mentioned. Pressure test the intake mani. I...
I walked away from my hunt for the coldest ac at idle quest. My conclusion was there is just not enough airflow at idle with 120-130 degree asphault temps baking the underside of the car. I found the gauges to be deceiving when monitoring them too. The hoods open, your most likely not in the...
Ecu doesn't power the injectors, it comes from the dash harness. After that I'm not sure though, haven't traced it any further. Ecu grounds them for control
just some info I found, the injectors are all fired at ounce on starting.. meaning you will see the max current all 6 can draw. 20 amps should be sufficient head room on my setup but depending on the ohms of a stock injector, you could be pushing it depending on the connector. oh and its 12...
didnt know that, its not listed on his site. Funny too, I called multiple times, voice mails and 2 emails with 0 response... Arron (driftmotion) has one similar to the one i used, you have to remove the tps locating tabs but perfect fit and he will sell the pins with out wires.
search through TE's sealed connectors. The water temp senders, ecu and many other connectors are still made by Te and available in small quantities through companies like onlinecomponents.com. Their junior power timer series will work for the tps and some of the body plugs can be found through...
