All you do to check the fan clutch is when the car is off spin the fan. If the fan spins freely and spins more than say 3 times its bad. The fan is suppose to have a little resistent when you spin it, its not suppose spin freely.

They are talking about the one that i was using that day to help bleed your cooling system. The one on top of the thermostat housing going to the turbo.

If your saying you have a 3inch hard pipe kit. Meaning that all the pipes for the I/C are metal not plastic(i don't know how new you are to these cars) Keep the hard pipes. Plus the 3000 pipe is more restrictive.
