Sorry if i sound ignorant but im not sure im understanding. Your saying that if the coolant is full its likely not my heater core? Thanks for the answer.
Travis
Hey,
I have a 1994 Toyota cresta with the 1jz in it. Just recently the heat stopped working in it and we suspect the heater core has gone. so my first question is:
1) Is the heater core the same on all 1jz cars/where can i buy a heater core for the jzx90? (not sure if i can just buy any...
low compression pretty much across the board. I guess this is a good excuse to do the 2j swap I have been meaning to do for ever now. gonna go buy the engine next weekend if i can. that being said im also gonna part out my 1jz. Thanks for the help.

coil packs are unplugged and thats how i got the water out was by turning the key. thats y water flew so high in the air. once i get a chance i will do the compression test. pretty busy now until sunday but ill try and get it done cuz now im just curious.
will I get a accurate reading if i just use my key to move the pistons. my plan is to run booster cables to the battery from my truck so i dont drain the battery or do I have to do it manually. I havnt done this before. I have the compression gauge just not sure if it will be accurate my way.
so I shot like 2 liters of water into the sky yesterday. Tons of water in there. Going to do my compression test today if I have time. can someone tell me what my compression should be at.
Alright, I will give that a try tmo. my intake is in the engine bay sitting right behind the right light so I guess just bad luck that water got in it. Ii will let you guys now tmo what I find out.
So i have a 91 RHD supra turbo which obviously means its a 1JZ from factory. this car is basically bone stock with some bpu (intake, exhaust). It has ran fine since the day I owned it, in fact its been solid. Never had a problem. So im driving in the rain yesterday and i hit a puddle that was...
ya well im thinking this can be an excuse for me to put a 1j or even a 2j in the car. i do know lots of people that have done rs20 swaps in 240's so im sure they could help with a 1j/2j swap. there are lots of threads on how to do the swap. plus my one buddy is a apprentice mechanic.
thanks...
is there a diy on tightening he crank dampner? or is it hard, im not sure what that is. anyone have a pic or something? do i need any special tools to do so?
how do u fix it? is there a step by step instruction guide on here some where? im semi usefull at fixing cars but i have never done this type of stuff before!
i was thinking rod knock! what exactly is a rod knock? can it be driven or will it hurt it? how hard is the fix? how much for the parts? how long would it take a mechanic to fix?
Thanks
Travis
i was driving down the road this morning and i started to hear this knocking sound. kinda a tap tap tap when it is in idle then i rev it to about 2-2500 rpm and it sounds like a second tap starts up and this one is way more violent and way louder. it was the same in every gear. and if i let off...
i just bought a 92 supra with a jdm 7m-gte. now the car originally came with a/c. the jdm engine however did not have an air conditioner on it. so my question is can i put an air conditioner on this jdm engine so my car can be cold in the summer time.
Thanks
Travis
