It's for the headlights. Since you're stymied by what must be the simplest circuit in the car I'd be wary of deleting stuff you don't know about if I were you....
The valve is designed such that there is some flow through the core even with the valve closed.
Changing the core isn't all that hard, just a bit time consuming. Follow the TSRM for removing the dash pad and pressure test the coolant system before putting it back in. Verify climate control...
The fan will only run in manual without water flowing through the core because there are temp switches mounted near the core to keep if off in auto. Second, there won't be power at the resistor unless the heater relay is on and even then it'll have to go through the motor for you to read it...
As someone who knows about this stuff I'm glad I stayed out of this thread back when it was first posted. Way too much BS. That one guy is about as clueless as basic emission techs come.
Btw as some of you may already know a visible smoke inspection recently became a mandatory part of the...
What exactly is the problem? Electrical or coolant flow? The first post is confusing on several counts. "No heat" can mean several things. And not to question my esteemed colleague but an analysis of the AC amp circuit appears to show it can't prevent the heat from working.
Yep, it's the 3 watt transceiver section from a Motorola bag phone. They were often permanently installed in cars. You can still buy a newer version, the M900, for long range use.
You'd think a guy who smokesalot would know the difference. Then again maybe that's the problem...
OP: Small metal box, blower motor resistor, auto resetting circuit breaker, some tygon tubing, pushbutton, and a cheap 12 volt tire inflater. Lots of other ways too. Mine is pretty fancy for a...
Where did someone say your fuel pressure should be 37 at WOT? The GTE employs Toyota's Type A injection system. That means 36 psi at atmospheric pressure, a value which is, by no coincidence, midpoint between the TSRM spec with the engine off or running with the regulator hose disconnected (same...
So the idle bypass was open. That would do it alrght. It should be all the way seated, not open one turn. And there's no need to buy a new TB. I've yet to see a plugged PCV port that couldn't be opened...
