I got a 2-gauge 52mm pod and it replaces the entire A-pillar piece, but it retains the bolt locations for the "Oh Shit" handle, so it can be re-installed. :icon_bigg
See the oh shit handle in the corner?
That picture looks like it was taken from Jim Hall's garage. I saw it a few months ago when I dropped off my Supra for repair, and it was sitting on a trailer being towed by the Suburban in the background. Odds are, my engine is sitting inside that garage when the picture was taken.
Eep, I trust Jim, but mention of something like that still makes me nervous. I'm willing to bet he just put it like that for a moment to take a picture.
Okay guys, time for another round of updates, this time a lot more fun! I got a couple new parts (with a few more on the way, and a slew of updates from Jim! Onto the pics!
Enjoy and tell me what you think!
Hello everyone, I have a 1990 Supra and I've been looking into upgrading my sound system.
I know right now that I have 4" in the front and the 5"-ish in the back, but I keep reading about 3.5" "mid" speakers. Does anyone have pictures of the speakers while installed in the car? I don't know how...
This is a very helpful thread, it should be stickied or something. People keep asking about factory speakers and we should have a solid base for what size they are.
Oh man, nothing like a 7M. Sooo much torque.
(to prevent this from becoming a 7M vs. 1J thread, i should also say that I'm quite a fan of the 1J as well)
I bought mine for $3300 from supraforums. The user also posts here on SM (who will remain anonymous). I was told it had a rebuilt engine with HKS MHG and ARP hardware, but with a blown turbo. It also came with a bosch BOV, eBay downpipe, and custom exhaust. Turns out it had blown piston rings...
My car is currently not running, but when I was driving it (with a blown piston ring) I carried no tools with me, just a baggie of spare bulbs and the spare tire. I later realized that I didn't have the jack/hardware for the spare tire, making it kinda useless...
Maybe I should buy one.
edit...
Thanks for all the feedback guys, looks like I'm going to rule out the centerforce, it seems to have a relatively short lifespan. I guess I just have one question left, what do people know about the South Bend clutches? I've found basically no feedback on them.
