funky_monkey58's What if you could start from scratch? Thread

I think Sean may have the sense to not go completely all out straight from the start this time around. A Supra is more fun to drive and use than just build and build and build. I'm excited to see what happens after that horrible exhaust is straightened out, and knowing Sean, it will be taken...

Emilio's Rebuild & Improvement Build Thread

I considered it, but I don't like the idea of having to remove the head, or tapping into it. I'm not practiced enough using a tap to trust myself on my cylinder head yet.

I stand corrected! Bolting on in 3...2...1... My exhaust manifold situation was a little sad too - about 4 of them are bolts since the studs stripped out, and two of the studs came out with their respective nuts when I removed them. Such is the life of a 7M I guess.

So the school year is over, and I have some free time to work on the car for once. So just as luck would have it, I'm sick. All my things are completely moved down to Stillwater however, so I can get to work making BOTH cars work correctly. My attention is currently on the White Car and its...

Spring MN Supra meet! Saturday April 16th

OK - Thoughts on June 18th? That's just a bit more than a month out. If nobody is opposed, we'll try to make it happen.

    92nsx's supra build

Or you could go a little bonkers and get a LIPP FFIM, it is pretty much exactly what you want, except for the price.

That's not *quite* what I need. The computer I have should be fine, but there's a separate relay under the dash that's also for cruise control. I'll have to hunt for a picture/diagram... Progress on the Supra has been slow recently. Most of my time has been spent working on my Roommate Dan's...

I'll bring the flasher relay back to you some time, and keep the auto tranny on hand! Blue Supra drops out of Overdrive from time to time, which has me worried. Also, do you happen to have the Cruise Control Relay from the '91 car still?

Only one small bit of news to report - got Rob's alternator installed and working great. Blue Supra needs an alignment and then other smaller items, but no bigger things to deal with. I helped my Roommate Dan start working on his new Red Supra today, including picking up a red hood from Rob...

    92nsx's supra build

Good to hear I could help add a little bit of motivation to the project - it's a shame for such a nice car to spend its life as a shelf. Hopefully the new fuel pump will help wake it up a little bit. Thanks again for the alternator - and those body panels of yours are going to a good cause -...

Spring MN Supra meet! Saturday April 16th

I'm sure we'll have another meet soon - shitty weather really cut down on trunout. I'm been thinking Mid-May personally - thoughts anyone?

Spring MN Supra meet! Saturday April 16th

About 2.5" of snow have fallen in Stillwater so far. It's expected to snow through about noon tomorrow. Also, horrible luck, the alternator on Blue Supra bit the bullet, so it's been stranded in St. Cloud. The white Supra is here however, and will be arriving with mismatched wheels and an...

    Steve's mildly out-of-control build

I'm a little worried about cruise-ability + turnout if the weather is crappy.

This car's paint isn't just regular homo blue - It's a really nice silver/blue with lots of flake in it, not a factory color. It's hard to tell unless you see it in person. Also, I have another dull, pic-less update. I am changing the transmission fluid, as well as the fluid filter. Only have...

Yupper - I should have never doubted you! It's much better now, biggest wire I had was 10 gauge...it was stringy and limp 12 gauge for the big main wire off the positive, no wonder it broke. The one on now is not perfect, my soldering iron didn't quite get hot enough, so the connection isn't...

Done and done. Timing belt and all front seals are fixed on the blue car. The main battery cable in the harness was broken in the white car, re-soldered and good to go now. Both are working, but there are more issues to tackle (hopefully before the meet): Wheels/tires on the White Car White car...
