Yea, so got it running drawthrough, it ran awful no matter how I adjusted it blowthrough with a cone filter on the isc, Dunno whos done this but its unmetered air so it instantly stalls out. so i got it goin drawthrough in factory afm location with isc drawing off stock pipe...
I guess Im gonna call em tomorrow, clarify things, but Im just wondering if any one else who has used this product could chime in. at this point i see that im supposed to use 3 wire gm maf by the connector they installed, but could also use 5 wire by cutting and making it work. however cant use...
yea, so my question is which does it mean me to use.... It seems to be the 3 wire one with separate intake temp sensor, but, the maft wiring they sent me doesnt have a wire in and a wire out for intake temp.
It has the 3 pin plug for the 3wire maf
white wire for rpm reading
grey for hac
pink...
This is maft basic, that was my thought originally, that the isc needs to draw after the sensor to meter correctly. but if people just put a breather on and adjust il try that. thanks much.
One more dumb question. I finally got my maft after a month wait from the manufacturer, and I notice it...
Wont this be unmetered air then? Im not doubting that this will work, dont get me wrong, I just thought that it got its original isc feed from the intake boot so that it was metered air through afm. or does it meter air through isc also?
So what are people usually doing for idle control when running maft basic in blowthrough? Im thinking its down to either blocking off isc and just cracking the throttle open, or will the isc valve hold against boost when closed if tapped in to intercooler pipe after maf but before tb?
Thanks.
The 87 one does but the tsrm that everyone ususally finds on here doesnt have that. Ive never had a bad one that didnt fail those resistance tests. even if its supposed to have 10-15kohms and its got 16 kohms it ususally dies with in a month or so. Ive probably gone through around 8 afms in 3...
I dont know if this is the right place to post this but in multiple quests to find a good afm over the last couple years Ive gotten quite a few that were supposed to be good, but end up being bad. the sellers say they checked by the tsrm check, but for some reason the online tsrm only has the...
You will have a lower fuel cut because that turbo will flow more cfm therefore the afm will see the max allowed htz signal at a lower psi. I believe fuelcut is around 1600-ish htZ as per my safc karmann signal. Im guessing your fuelcut will be around 8 lbs?
So update. Maf finally shit the bed. maybe that was the issue. It had no codes or symptoms and then I went to start it the other day and 3htz on the safc unchanging, maf code and 10.0 afrs at idle. =) having a questionable maf in the past few weeks probably wasnt helping the tune.
I agree not a good idea to cheap out, but people cant say something doesnt work if theyve never tried it. when it comes to ebay stuff my personal rule is never buy the cheapest thing haha. mid grade. its not that the cheapies are all junk its quality control. My only experiences with fprs is a...
Just get 550s or 560s and a lex afm. Its more about the even match of flow, so that you dont screw up the ecus ability to learn/add/remove fuel. the extra fuel that 550s provide because the ecu still thinks it has 440s will compensate for the unmetered air through lex afm. It will still have...
Hey so I came across this thread and noticed the link to the ffim I had (and still have) for sale. I definitely agree that it isnt as good as a sethron or ron r one nor as beautiful. However it is a cheap alternative. I have one just like this that I have had on my car for a year or so, made...
Hey so Il vouch for an ebay Vision motorsports afpr. I have one on my car and also I have a friend that has one on his fully built rb25 240 racecar that made 890 wheel at 38psi. Its definitely held up for him and he was drifting with it in competitions, beating the piss out of it. I believe...
yeah, and in turn you could squeeze a bit higher fuelcut out of the system by going negative with safc corrections, and adjusting fuel pressure and afm screw appropriately. it modifies the karmann signal pre ecu.I didnt remove safc if you had read through the posts I was having an issue with it...
Ok so from what I gather, a major trigger of going rich on boost is throttle position. my tps is currently effed up and matted will only show 68%. I think the issue is in my wiring as ive tried a couple used tps's and a new one. So it sounds like the biggest thing affecting my tune currently is...
