    Faulty Expansion Valve Recall

As a college student I am all over this. ;) I firmly believe that being in college and paying 10 grand in tuition every year entitles me to a little "thriftiness".

    N/A Gas milage.

I get an average of 22 mpg with more than a dozen floored accelerations per fill up. Mixed city/highway. 281,000 miles on rebuilt original motor. 31,000 miles since full rebuild. I have rather complete records for the car and no mention of an O2 sensor being replaced. Could very well be the...

    Faulty Expansion Valve Recall

My A/C has been empty for a while. I'm going to call Toyota tomorrow and ask if they can check to see if my VIN has ever had it's valve replaced per the recall and if not, I'll see if they can fix it. Longshot, but I'll try.

    head torque

You can read my lengthy explanation in my sig. ;) Shouldn't you be going past 60? I thought around 70-75 is where you want to be for the bolts. :dunno: The studs were @ 80 per ARP's instructions.

    taking off flywheel

I used a large flathead screwdriver and pinned it against the tranny tunnel. For out of the car, just find something to wedge it against.

    EGR System

Ya, it appears that the turbo and N/A use the same type of components, but they list different part *numbers* for a few of them. Same part names, but NOT the same numbers, as can be seen here: http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/291420/Parts/25620.aspx 4 different valves.

    lowering springs

Tokico's should be fine and if I'm not mistaken, they have a lifetime warranty anyway. ;)

    EGR System

My guess is that the EPC could tell you the answer. http://www.cygnusx1.net/Supra/Library/EPC/

    Brake Lines

OEM brake lines from Toyota look to be about 200 plus shipping. You guys(meaning all of SM, not you guys in this thread) should use the EPC more often. The price estimates given within it are normally close enough. That's not that bad actually.

    Brake Lines

Titanium. Wow. Taking a stab in the dark, but if that even existed my guess is it would cost about half what the car cost when brand new. :dunno:

Great reading, JJ. Thanks. Hehe, he said "double nut" a few times in that article. :D

    California ECU to non-Cali ECU...

How easy are JDM ECU's to get a hold of? I would think that would be the easiest match up, but the non-cali ecu would get rid of anything related to that second O2 sensor since the non-cali ecu doesn't know of any such O2 sensor. ;) I dont think there are many differences at all between the...

    California ECU to non-Cali ECU...

I'm going to be doing the same to mine. :) As far as I know, the O2 and EGR as mentioned above are the major differences.

    Helicoil error found (PICS ADDED)

Wow, I didn't even get the same brand of stuff that you got. I also did not get any cutting fluid. I did, however get the same brand studs!

    Helicoil error found (PICS ADDED)

You have PM. Cliffs: PM'd you about the thread a while back, didn't want to surprise you. :) Yes, I am only now realizing the tap is not correct, 4 months after. (stupid me) I had said there was a chance the tap got mixed up on your end, not mine ;) I did NOT recently buy head studs or...

    overheating? no water?

Probably would have been smart to pull over and park the car the first time it went *near* red and fixed it before driving it again.

The thing I hate the most about supras/my supra is.......

Mine has that too. I hate the starter bolt, top tranny bolt, improper factory head bolt torque, the fear it gives me regaurding rod knock when I have no symptoms at all. I love it way more than any of those things though. I'm still young enough and new enough to the game to blindly look past...
