The ECU determines what codes are spit out. As long as you have a turbo ECU, you will get turbo codes and so forth.
** Oh and just to clarify, I'm talking about the ECU, not the super monitor computer. The super monitor computer is in charge of deciphering the signals it gets from the car's...
It will still plug in and "work", but the MPG estimates will be off. Although as I understand, if the car is modified at all, you can forget the MPG estimates as they will be horribly inaccurate.
My .02.
Did you receive it yet?
I'll be watching this... I want to do a GTE swap in my '90. I figure I could spend another 1500 and still have a weak N/A or spend ~2 grand and have a healthy rebuilt turbo motor.
I did it on my turbo and just wore some "mechanix" gloves and it wasn't a problem with the heat.
The compression results on the other hand were problematic... lol.
Still need to test the NA. Might do that this week...
No offense, but not much of the project thus far has been "smart". ;)
Now, you need to get every single tiny little piece of metal shaving out of the head so you don't ruin internals. Then you need to figure out some way to secure the valve cover.
Oh the aural goodness...

I think that may be the most concise, helpful piece of writing concerning the "backpressure" topic I've seen around here.
Well done Poodles. :golf clap:
The paint looks off. :( when I worked at the dealership this summer, a few cars came through the body shop like that and it just sucks. Either tone would look fine by themselves, but put them next to each other and it's just bad.
The greyer tone looks really good though, lol.
I've ridden/driven in an Eibach + KYB set-up and it's just fine. Not much stiffer than stock, though. I, myself, am debating heavily between suspension set-ups.
My considerations so far:
Eibachs or Tanabe(TRD) + KYB GR2: Pros being cheap and better than old stock set-up and comfortable ride...
Ask yourself how mayo could NOT constitute a BHG.
Coolant and oil are mixing. You know this. The previous owner knew it. On top of that, it overheats.
You, my friend, have got a classic BHG whether it smokes on start up or not.
You cut your front exhaust pipe(directly under the manifold) because your muffler was cracked? I'm very confused. Not sure we are on the same page here...
I've been debating attempting to rid my car of it's Cali-spec crap, but I'm not very sure of the performance benefits. Like CRE said I've driven quite a few N/A's, both cali and not and I can't say I noticed a difference either way.
The cat in the front part of the exhaust on a mkIII is welded...
