Deuteronomy 23:1
No one whose testicles are crushed or whose male organ is cut off shall enter the assembly of the Lord.
No cock and balls? No Christmas for you. Go home, you godless potato of a man.
Wow, this is a great thread. I have paint plans in my future and I was expecting closer to 10k for a full restoration even if I did nearly all prep work. It's great to hear so many peeps are getting so much paint work done for so much under that figure.
Had I realized that I'd get creep when I was ordering my turbo I would have looked into porting the wastegate. Now that it's installed I'm not really worried about it. My thought is that by the time I can notice any creep I'm going faster than the 75mph speed limits in my area and I should slow...
If it is actually creep, then a boost controller won't help. That's what boost creep is. When the wastegate can't flow enough air to keep the turbine from spinning faster and faster you get boost creep. The wastegate is wide open, but still can't remove enough flow to manage the boost pressure...
Ah, Ken! That's right!
I've heard the GR2s are pretty harsh when lowered. I don't think that they were designed to be used with non-stock springs. If you do Tokico Blues let us know how it goes. I'm trying to figure out the right suspension set-up and I'm having a hell of time. I want a GT feel...
Silver MK3, nice work! That looks like a good cutoff.
Pretty sure those are NOT DOT legal once you put the HID bulbs in there. Those are made for halogen bulbs, not HID. Can we see the cutoff?
That's great reference info. I've thought that I'm sitting somewhere around that with a 54 trim CT-26, 3" exhaust (divorced DP), open element air filter, port matched exhaust outlets on the head and 11-12 psi. No port and polish on mine, but I figure an extra couple PSI should make up the...
I'd love to see what others have to say with good bushings and all. I want a slightly lower ride with improved handling, but I still want a GT feel and not a harsh, sports-only type ride.
GTSFirefighter (I forget your name): What shocks do you have? I think that'll make a big difference in the...
Cool idea/build morganson. I'd like to update my coils and get rid of the ugly 7M coil pack. I'll have to keep this in mind.
Man, I'm always amazed at how quick the CAD guys are at work. I took a few classes in engineering school a few years ago and I can draw parts and assemblies and all...
Lol, valve tick solved with an additive? C'mon people.
Valve tick means you've got excessive clearance between the cam lobe and the valve shim and you should check valve lash. It's an easy job which is nearly free and requires just a couple cheap tools.
As someone relatively new to shooting I'd say focus on the basics and just get used to the thing. People get all crazy about the ar-15 and mods and this vs this and its all just extraneous.
For me the enjoyment and function of an ar is the shooting itself. Focus on range time and technique and...
That's a bad idea, mmkay?
Since I'm in PSA mode: next time stop driving it after it stalls the second or third time. Now it's likely completely trashed. If oil pressure drops, you turn off the engine and leave it off.

b) Scam you somehow
CASH ONLY.
Option 1.
Damn do I need to try that next time. I've turned my arms red from scrapes and scratches a few times messing with mk3 starters... ugh.
And to think of all the beer I could have enjoyed while I was slaving away on those damn bolts while Dave had it done in 5 minutes... sigh.
