I think that screw, which strikes the dashpot piston, is just for helping to normalize the rpm dropoff when closing the throttle quickly. I don't think it adjusts idle at all.

You can reduce CR by using a thicker metal head gasket. I know that Wiseco's will produce about a 9:1 CR as well.

I'm not clear on this- are you saying that having the AC equipment in the car somehow reduces radiant heat to the interior, or are you saying that he should put in the AC in order to cool the interior down by using it??
