To me, that kinda sounds like the fan might be hitting the shoud, or a bad alternator bearing.
It's kind of hard to diagnose. I would think you could pinpoint it with a stethescope.
So far, I've only installed my rears, but it was super easy!
Of course...having no rear subframe in the car provides a not-so-surprising increase in working space...
Early style, roud plug:
Later style, D-shaped plug:
I don't know about using one of each kind, but I bought a pair of '94(iirc) 4Runner knock sensors, and spliced in the new plugs.
Haven't had an issue in 5+ yrs.
PS- This is on an '88 harness/ ecu.
No updates this week.
Spent $500 on furniture and $300 on new Khumo's for my daughter's car.
Still waiting for some urethane parts to come in before I show off pics of the reinstalled rear subframe.
LOL. I was thinking the same thing.
"hella lotta power in that 1,000rpm powerband"...
I also doubt that it's either the plugs OR the cat. You'd definately be able to get past 2,000rpm with either issue.

3. Ported and polished headS? It has one head.
4. MHG can't cost $350 unless its an HKS stopper gasket
5. Tockico shocks. $1000?!? Try $500 if they're Illumina's, half that for the...

And I can't believe you only hit 222hp on 11psi, Hatchet.
I made 260whp on a stock ct with only 8psi. Maybe your afr's were even richer than reported.
Maybe someone else can chime in, but how often do these things actually go bad?
I imagine it's the wiring that ends up being the culprit 99 times out of 100.
No, we wouldn't say 'forgive and forget' about a supposed professional screwing up your block, especially when you TOLD him what to do and he had the tools for it.
You should definitely call him on it!
Buy a 5ft straight section, and one of those multiple bend mandrel pipes.
They have a 180 and a 45 built into it. If you buy aluminized pipe, it's pretty cheap. That way you can cut the angles you need...
