I vote shims as well. When they're beyond clearance, they sound like injectors ticking away, but alot louder.

I run them. They're a bit stronger than the stock units, and aren't 20+ years old. I haven't heard of anyone ever having trouble with them.

I like that revision too, but i do like the wraparound logo as well. For revision 2, I might suggest placing 'Supra' in the center of the pattern in place of the horizontal line. I used a set of gapless rings on my 7mge way back in like '96. Didn't have any problems with them, but I didn't notice any benefit when I installed them, either.

I did the stage 1. Wasn't too hard, but you'll want to have a dial gauge+magnetic mount if you don't already have one.

Good point- having the shop assemble it is nice insurance, though i would say, tearing a head down is nearly more work than tearing a block down.
